Tony's Burgers — Restaurant in Cathedral City

If I could grade this place with no stars I would.

For starters, I called around 5:30 to place an order. I called 5 or 6 times and no answer. I figured it was the dinner time rush and since I worked in restaurants for 6 years I understood and just drove to the restaurant.

I get there and it’s 6:05. I place my order and I’m told “just fyi, your order might take up to 15 minutes” I said it was okay since I get it. The server continues to take to-go orders from other two people that came after me.

After 25 mins I just approach the same server and asked him “hey do you know how long till my order is ready”? His answer “yes I’ll check” I wait for him to come back and the next time he comes by is to give his food to the gentlemen that ordered after me. In addition to this he had a huge order compared to my 2 burgers and fish tacos.

At this time is 7:00 and no food and no server. I overhear the other servers asking each other if I had been helped or not. The same server passes by with another bag and surprise, not for me again. At this point I ask him to cancel my order since I was tired of waiting. He says “it’s coming just 3 minutes, it will be here in 3 minutes” and just said “it’s okay, I just want my refund please” at this point the guy is just smacking his register screen really hard and disappears for a bit. Then I heard him say in Spanish “hey this order got cancelled, so not start it anymore”

Let me tell you, I spent an hour total patiently waiting and they had not even started my food. I worked in many restaurants and I’m pretty patient. But this was really bad service and just want to FYI people about it.

Service was fast but we were only 1 of 2 tables so that was easy, but anyway my friend liked the place but I did not, as mostly they push alcohol and I do not drink, she does. I ordered the aloha burger and it was so soaked in teriyaki sauce I could only taste the salt and sauce so I have no idea what the meet, tomatoes, lettuce, onion, cheese and bun tastes like, I mean it was soooo overpowering you might as well be eating cardboard because you can not taste anything else. Also they gave us a knife to cut the big burger with, but it was so dull and all that sauce made everything slip and slide all over the plate! what a mess had to ask for more napkins and got an argument "look you already have some" waiter was pointing at 2 napkins, but I could see from the food it was going to be very messy so I asked for more anyway and he very skimpy gave us 2 extra lol what a mess we needed more than 4 napkins that we did not get, I wish they had those large toothpicks to help keep the hamburger together when you are handling it but it all just fell apart. We also ordered the garlic fries and man were they soaked in oil I mean you could only taste the oil no French fry taste at all and talk about limp! wet noodle time here folks. the experience one may have at the world-renowned anthony's hamburgers, colloquially, tony's burgers, is a mixed bag. patrons should look forward to an incredible and delectable burger, but may also be surprised about passerby. my personal experience was considerably distasteful, as upon ordering and digging into "tony's burger" two individuals, whom i assume to have been under the influence of some sort of illicit substance, broke into a fight in the middle of the dining area. this was an appalling sight to myself, my wife, and my children, who were looking to enjoy a peaceful tuesday afternoon. the people fighting were proclaiming many racial and inflammatory remarks at the waitstaff who tried to quell and de-escalate the situation. One young waitress, unfortunately, was stuck with a needle amongst the chaos. Once the paramedics and other emergency responders had arrived to the scene, it was already too late. the spectacle that laid itself out upon my family and I had ruined our appetites. To add insult to injury, the manager, dave, insulted me upon my request for a refund. this is a shame to have to admit, as although tony's "burger" was incredibly delicious, the atmosphere is abhorrent and does not follow THE tony's family dining...
