I had a lot of mixed feelings about this place. It came highly recomended by some of the locals. I got the Vegetarian Special and my husband got the chicken Alfredo. I was very happy with my dish -especially how the veggies were steamed/cooked properly as sometimes they're woody/stalky. The server was exceptional and did a great job making you feel welcome. He was a very nice young lad. The house Italian dressing was phenomenal. They could sell this online and it would put them on the map. I would buy it from Iowa.
Soda refills are only free the first time. Kind of crazy and a bit frugal if you ask me, in addition to that nonsense the cups are tiny and the ice is HUGE. I DID like how the ice was clearly from a tray and not a machine as we all know those things are mold machines. Just get larger glasses and stop charging for refills.
The garlic bread was poor quality and burnt. Usually my favorite part of any Italian meal.
The environment was horrible. It was so small we may as well have all been sitting at the same table. We just sat and listened to everyone else's conversation because we didn't want them all listening to ours. There was us and 3 other tables. Very close quarters.
If youre from out of town do yourself a favor and go to Gimme's instead. Its not Italian but it IS...
Read moreWent for our first time! I must admit we have been sleeping on this place. It's wonderful! Our server was attentive, I had the Italian house salad to start while my partner had the creamy Italian salad, so delicious, the redwine vinegar with the herb mix along with olive oil transported us to Sicily, such a wonderful flavor! My Lasagna Bolognes was superb along with the glaric bread it all paired beautifully. You can taste the authenticity and the love for the art of cooking. My wife had the Conalettie she enjoyed every bite, needless to say we were impressed! The owner was the creator of these wonderful dishes and made our experience beautiful. Thank you Nino for such a beautiful experience. we are so happy we found our new...
Read moreA fancy looking (from the outside) Italian restaurant located in Cave Junction, Oregon? You know this Jerseyite had to check it out. Sure, it took me seven years of driving past it on an almost daily basis, but I finally did it.
The server we had was very calm, cool, and good at her job. She helped us quickly and didn't make any mistakes. The cook seems like kind of an ass (based on hearing him yell a bunch about people's orders) but that fits with my memory of Italian restaurants and delis.
The food was average. There was nothing special about the spices, the sauce, the pasta, the bread, or the meat. Plus it was the same price as some nicer places, but only half the food.
I'm glad I finally experienced Pietro's, but I probably...
