Carlos Restaurante — Restaurant in Cave Junction

Horrible! I think this is for the people who live in this town it is literally the only Mexican restaurant they can make or choose to have an opinion on. This is one of the only Mexican joints in town so how can anyone actually compare it logically that makes no sense. It's horrible. For one my menu had old food all over it (salsa to be exact) I felt embarrassed to mention it. And just dealt with it. BUT Then my water cup I HAD to ask the waitress for ( which she was good sweet and nice. Nothing against the help Except the food and cleanliness) then my water cup came with buggers on the top where I would drink and put my mouth(looked like buggers made me gag. Who knows what it was maybe pick da Giao. Or just who knows grossness) I couldn't drink it. And checked everyone's glass after that to make sure. Eventually we flagged someone down. Our actual waitress who we only saw twice. She took it back and yelled in mean duragotiry Spanish words ( again we know how to speak Spanish and closed our daughters ears while laughing because it was so ridiculous) Then another man brought it out and told me he 'rinsed it'. Not exchanged. Rinsed it. Ewwwe. I was extremely grossed out. I really really wanted to try though I mean who can mess up my fAV food no one ever has. Not only this by where we were seated was not in the actual restaurant. And out in this weird kind of screened area ( when my daughter and I went inside to use the restroom which we never got the choice cuase it was continually occupied. Of course. Lol) we walked back in and A man who seemed to be a regular was literally saying cuss words out loud super loud while staff walked by to his own mother. He lived in this town you could tell. And the staff was completely ignoring it. I was seated with my daughter and husband. My daughter is 7. And he was using horrible language and no one was doing anything. We are quite compassionate and funny people so we thought it was funny and we covered our daughters ears! Cuase we couldn't believe what was truly going on it was insane. Oh and the menu was huge. You could barely know what you want. Just was all all over the place. Idk. And then we asked a random worker man for a milk and he pinched our daughter and screamed 'iiee' and she got scared. And when he brought it back he made this noise again LOUd and pinched her again. This was an extremely weird exp. and a bit funny to us (but NOT for her!) All the crew seemed NOT to care anymore. We will NEVER EVEr to that awful restaurant again. The food was awful!!!!!!!!!!! Just awful!!!! We went to the closest super market and got cereal for dinner. We live near Normal taco trucks normal Mexican of the rouge valley which is so good like so good out of a truck. Omg. So good. but this stuff this food was literally disgusting and GROSs it was so bad we couldn't eat it. We seriously. We couldn't. It was gross. We couldn't eat it. My daughter and I shared the grossest slimiest chicken casadia. Awful. My husband a normal beef taco. Horrible. Chewy gross drippy just no words. I apologize for saying it. But it was so awful. And the environment was literally just like what...???? Is this real the service cleanliness ect. It was just nuts. Horrible. Gross. Fake. Yuck. No good. I'm so sorry. It was the worst ever. I'm so so so sorry I feel so bad. But awful. It was like a fake joke movie!! It felt like we were getting pranked with the entire thing. And the guy cussing at his mom. And where we were sat. And the food. Omg it was seriously hillarious. But in reality it was actually We were literally waiting for someone to to come out and say we were punked. I again so feel bad. But this is literal exp real exp. The end. This was such a crazy experience it dosnt even sound real we will NEVER go back ever. Can you imagine. No. I feel bad for the staff. But the food was so freaking horrible. And the atmosphere. Oh my goodness. No never. I'm sorry our waiteeess. When we saw her one time was really sweet. I hope she's fine and makes good tips. We tipped well to her I hope...

Unfortunately this place went down hill, quick, in the last year. In the last 10 orders I've made, it was only right 2 times (that's 20%, in any school, that's a failing grade). Last time we went in to sit down, we stood there for 5 minutes before we were ever acknowledged, they had MAYBE a total of 15 customers inside and out so they were far from the "normal" busy. We sat and watched as a family waited for assistance for 45 minutes, as they had received the wrong food, but their waitress never came back and the other staff wouldn't assist them, finally the chips and salsa guy went to see if they needed help. The girl explained that it wasn't what they ordered, and she was so sweet about it. The kid said he'd look into it, then went and sat down and started eating and talking with the other wait staff. I will never return, that family ended up leaving, they asked for a check that never came, so they gave up. I don't blame them, we had horrible service and warm, NOT hot food... sad, 5 year ago Carlos would be kicking this sad excuse right in...

Got to the restaurant and was seated very quickly. It was a busy Friday night. The waitress got our drink order right away and did a good job checking up on us so she was able to get our order without us waiting long. Everything went downhill after that. My tortillas did not come with our food delivery and we had to ask 3 times for them. Finally about 15-20 minutes later she comes with the tortillas and I reach out my hand to get them and she reaches across to my aunt and gives the tortillas to her. (She had flower I had corn and she already had hers). I told the waitress those are mine thank you and she continued to reach across the table. At the end of our meal the waitress placed the check directly in front of my father on his to go box instead of on the table. I was the one paying for the meal. Found the waitress to be very unprofessional. Needless to say I left a Sub par tip. I felt like leaving 0 but that is unfair to the other restaurant staff who splits tips on card transactions.
