Bunk House Burgers — Restaurant in Cañon City

I absolutely LOVE this place. Burgers are perfect and I loveD their "chips." I hadn't got food from them in probably close to a year and I went there a month or so ago and got my regular burger and chips to go. I get home and open the container and the chips I ordered aren't there, but instead ruffled chips. I was so upset/disappointed, so I called and told them my order was wrong. They informed me that they no longer have the chips I love (fried potatoes slices), and only have the ruffled ones. I was so disappointed because of the low number of options of fast food places in Canon, this is one of the few I still can eat at without either getting sick or having to request the staff to cook my food longer or less bc they changed how they cook their food that I loved until they suddenly changed it (like Domino's parm bites are overcooked now). I was so upset that I left a message for the owner with the staff member I talked to when I called about getting the wrong chips. The owner called me and explained their vendor they used for the chips I love raised their prices and she had to switch to the ruffled kind. I understand that financially she felt she had to do that for her business, but I wish she would have been able to figure it out without changing the chips. Maybe just getting potatoes in bulk from anywhere else and slicing them themselves would work. I'm not sure why it was a problem that they had to switch the food since potatoes are sold from plenty of vendors and slicing to fry isn't difficult. Since it's not a rare item or difficult to turn into the chips they sold before, I asked the owner to try anything to bring them back or at least the option for customers to get the standard sliced fried potatoe chips, but I don't know if that happened. She didn't sound like she was going to try to do anything, bc she told me she hadn't had any other complaints. I don't see how because the other chips were amazing! The ruffled aren't bad (so that's probably part of it), but they are not what I want with my burger! Now any time I think about where to get fast food I sadly exclude Bunk House. SUCKS because their burger and chips were my go-to when it came to getting a good burger and side that isn't the basic McDs and Burger...

First timers. We paid $42... over priced for the experience. We didn't read reviews beforehand but we should of. You'd think the company would switch things up after so many reviews of the burgers being dry. There's no flavor in the patties themselves. I did see that the burgers are already cooked and thrown on the grill just to heat them back up. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt but I should of known it was going to taste like a 2 day old leftover burger. I was not excited while eating the burger. I get more excited eating at McDonald's. Highly disappointed, I'm not quite sure why there's so many raves about the joint. The mushrooms weren't juicy either, those seemed dry and old. I also got onion rings, those weren't too bad. The grape soda tasted diluted but the lemonade was good but pretty sour.The other couples that dined in as well didn't seem so excited about the joint, in fact they talked about one of the women working there because she had no idea what was going on with orders, nor seemed to care, she was willing to give the table something they didnt ask for but the guy was nice enough to brush it off and take it anyways. Anyways, after so many negative reviews, and no change in the joint, they're either lazy workers and don't care or the owners are just as responsible. We've been here for nearly 2 years and figured "let's try this place before we PCS out of here" HUGE disappointment. I wouldn't recommend the joint if you're...

I love how fresh they prepare your food. I also love all their sides I can't choose a favorite. I always try and pick something different ( I feel confident doing that because everything else I've had has been great), so I got the fish sandwich (can't remember the name), with the potato chips. The fish was super fresh and had great flavor. I loved their homemade coleslaw tartar sauce, and it was amazing, but because it was so good I know I'll want extra next time (yes there'll be a next time). The staff were so happy and bubbly. They all smiled and greated us when we did get to the counter. Dont get frustrated when you walk in and see a long line. The wait is worth it, and all the staff work effectively and efficiently to get it all done, and you in and out to the best and working hard ability. I have been here many times and have never been disappointed by any aspect of this establishment, but this one time (I was more sad then disappointed I guess). I was really excited for one of their deep fried cheesecakes, but when I got their they no longer had it on their menu. 😢😢😢😢. It was a very sad day and experience of my history of going to bunk house burger. I love this place so much and recommend it to all my family that comes in from out of town, or my coworkers that are looking for an amazing burger or on the lines of such. AMAZING FOOD AND STAFF!!!!!
