This use to be my go to place. I loved Mugs. While they are a bit expensive, I felt like it was worth added expense because it seemed like a home town family place. I would frequent Mugs nearly every Friday night for Prime Rib. I definitely didn't complain about the Prime Rib. After about three months of going every Friday or Saturday I was hit with horrible rude service. I initially asked if the happy hour drinks applied to the restaurant area. I was told no. That was fine, then I requested a Bud Light on draft. I was told they stopped serving it that way and now only serve it in the bottle. I was okay with that. Many places do that. I than asked if I could please have two salads with my Prime Rib as opposed to anything else for carb reasons. I was told I could not do that. The server was very rude and and by this time, I felt as though I could get nothing out of her but a "NO". I told her that I have been getting it that way for months and understood that I had to pay extra. I just decided that I wasn't going eat at Mugs. I told the rude waitress to let her manager know that I wanted my check and would not be returning. I noticed the waitress discussing something with a lady behind the counter. Thinking it was the manager, the lady came over and without introducing herself, she immediately jump on me and the other person sitting at the table stating that they had never given happy hour prices to the people in the restaurant. When I stated that we didn't have an issue with that, she cut us off and continued on with why they don't do that. I really didn't care they didn't do that. I told the unknown woman I wanted my check and I would not be returning. Without hesitation, she got our check and walked off. Her attempts to keep us as customers was the last thing on her mind. I found another place to get Prime Rib when I want it. I don't get hassled for getting two salads. It is in Pueblo West. Mugs is not my go to place. They ruined a great experience for me and the waitress who I had never seen before was rude and condescending. I liked to be able to go to Mugs because it was local. When places get to big for their britches and think they can't be replaced, they can. I will not go back and will continue to tell my story of how poorly I was treated even as a...
Read moreOn Tuesday 7/18/23 a friend and I went to breakfast at this restaurant. I ordered the burger and egg breakfast with a medium well burger and eggs over medium. When the order was recieved the potatoes were dry and cold. The eggs were were so raw that when I cut into them the whites ran as clear as water, I contacted the waitress Audrey and showed her how raw the eggs were and she asked if I wanted two more. I told her yes that I could not eat the ones served. I was not offered a clean plate and after waiting for approximately 20 minutes I began eating the rest of my breakfast (on the same plate as the half raw eggs were on )which was by now completely cold. I was completely finished with my food and had stacked my silverware and cup on the plate and moved it to the opposite side of the table when she brought out the replacement eggs. She asked if I wanted them, I told her it was a little late now, she said "I know do you want them"? I said no, she turned and left. Approximatly five minutes later she brought the check in the amount of $30.95,after looking at the check I saw that they charged an extra $2.25 for the two replacement eggs. Strange that this restaurant has an heart shaped sticker on the menu asking for extra tips for the kitchen staff when inedible food is served. I live in Canon City and will not spend another penny at Mugs. ...
Read moreI am incredibly upset and frustrated with how terrible customer service is at Mugs. Every time I've gone they have been incredibly understaffed and too busy to handle the business they have, giving poor service to everyone who is there. Even though Mugs has one of my favorite sandwiches in town, I have refused to go there because of the continual bad service, made even more obvious by my 15+ years in restaurant management.
I recently bought some gift certificates to benefit the Canon City GATE Program and thought I would just order food To Go food so I would not have to deal with the poor service. I called over and over and over for 30 minutes, both the 5348 number and the 3303 number, and neither phone number was ever answered!! The 5348 number stated they were on the other line with another customer but I would literally hang up and instantly call back and get the same message for the entire 30 minutes. According to my call log, I called 26 times from 10:45-11:15, not even lunch rush yet, and received the same message every time about being on the other line with another customer. I am incredibly disappointed and while I would like to help the GATE program in the future, I will never buy gift certificates for this poorly run restaurant...
