Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram at SNDTRAVELS and EATWELLTRAVELOFTEN Trying something nw tonight that we've been considering for some time but Diane is not a big Cajun food lover so..... Well, having said that, let me first point out that you get your choice of seasoning so Cajun is only one of the choices and you can go from mild to hot. Diane got the weekend special which they made available tonight. This consists of 1 lobster tail (split in half), 1/2 lb of snow crab, 1/2 shrimp corn and potatoes. I took the Dungeness crab. Both of us chose the garlic butter seasoning and cooked in bags instead of just boiling water. That keeps the crab crispier. First the complaint. The lobster was not separated from the shell before cooking and stuck to the shell causing the loss of to much meat and not being able to get large portions of meat. Lobster is expensive and should be handled better. For this reason I suggest staying away from the lobster. Both the Dungeness and snow crab were cooked well, coming out of the shells easily. The seasoning in the bottom of the bag made it so you could dip the meat or not to control the amount. The shrimp were also well cooked and tasty. I found the corn, dipped in the garlic butter and seasoning, to be really enjoyable. Overall, we enjoyed everything but the lobster and give it two thumbs-up👍👍 Recommended.

Terrible and a scam. The menu says no refunds and for a reason. The food was terrible, crab meat stuck to the shell, no seasoning, the corn was hard, the sausage was gross...the only thing decent was my shrimp and I say decent because it was just that. The cook aka the owner said that I could not exchange my food out for a full catfish meal though I still had to pay full price of the Wednesday special because they could not reuse the food. How is that an excuse for someone patronizing your business? In return for "free" I would've received 2 catfish and fries. Whenever I argued that that was crazy and asked if I could speak with the manager, they then involved the bartender because the manager was not there and the cook aka the owner did not want to come out. After the bartender pleaded with the cook, I then was told that due to me eating 1 1/2 legs of my crab (literally 1 skinny leg and a half of another skinny leg) and two shrimp, I had to pay $18.00 for my food. Which was $10.00 off of my food. I did NOT care for a discount of a refund and would've happily paid my $29 for a $14 catfish plate, but instead I was only discounted $10. Do not, I repeat, do NOT get scammed by the week day specials. They are doing this to get people in.

12/20/2024-- This is simply a response to the restaurant's reply below. I have no reason to lie about your staff or the food we received. My review reflects my personal experience and opinion—exactly what reviews are meant to do. While I respect that you may disagree, your response speaks volumes about how you view your customers. I appreciate the clarity, though. If I had any hesitation about returning to your establishment, I certainly don't anymore.

We decided to try this restaurant based on a friend's recommendation. She raved about the seafood boil, saying it was delicious. Instead, we opted for a fried fish basket and a fried shrimp basket, along with extra sides of corn on the cob, hush puppies, and onion rings. I placed the order online for pickup, and the total came to nearly $50. While that’s not surprising these days, I was pleased with the amount of food we got. However, I was disappointed to see an extra fee added alongside the tax. I know many restaurants are doing this now, but I find it frustrating. I can't recall what the fee was called, but if I hadn't noticed the higher tax, I might have missed it entirely. Another issue was that the food was undercooked. While the flavor was great, almost everything needed more time in the heat. The hush puppies were perfect, but the fish, shrimp, and even the corn could have been cooked longer. My next concern was the service. I’m not usually too picky, but it would have been nice if the staff seemed happy to see their customers. With how much we spend on food these days, treating customers well is important for a business to thrive. Not one person I encountered offered a smile, despite there being several employees around. I had to wait a few minutes for someone to assist me, even though two people were just standing near the front desk. Another employee was on the phone behind the desk, but she didn’t even look up to acknowledge me. So, while I enjoyed the flavor of the food, we had to finish cooking it ourselves. Given all this, I won’t return. One last note, I noticed another reviewer mentioning signs that advise that the restaurant doesn't provide refunds. I guess this is also a new trend and one I...

I visited this place last week with my niece. The food and service was great. I didn't like the no substitution nor the only way to get head on shrimp is to but it separately but I love seafood specifically crab legs 🤣. I normally go to Red Claw it's my favorite!! But my niece stayed close to this area so she chose this spot. The flavor was great. However I do prefer my boil to be soaked in its sauces. We asked the waitress could we get some more seafood boil sauce because it was just too dry. She replied yes and it would be 3.99 for a bowl. I told her it wasn't a problem and she could bring it right out. After that we were fine. We even purchased some sauce to go. Now to my one star review. I like the flavor of the sauce and wanted to come in and buy some more. When I entered I asked the gentleman at the bar what I wanted to purchase (the sauce). He's response to that was. We don't sale the sauce by itself. I told him that was odd because I was just in here last week and purchased two to go. He said do you recall your servers name. I told him no but did remember thr price I paid. He said oh okay. Yeah.. Well we don't normally sale the sauce by itself. My response was may I speak with someone else because I know that you do. It was listed on my ticket with the charge. He said uhh... will you have to buy a pound of something in order to get the sauce... I was still a bit off because I wasn't told that the last time. I asked him could he ask someone. He went to the back and in less than half of a second he came right back out and said no.. the chef said we don't sale it. I was like oh.. I didn't know the cook makes the decision. Thank you and walked out. They will never get my business again solely because of that. Red Claw...

I had the worst experience I've ever had in my life while dining out. My order came out looking delicious but was extremely salty and chicken a little pink. When I called our waitress over to send it back and order something else she had the audacity to blame me for my food being salty. She told me my food was salty because I asked for two sauces and told me my chicken didn't appear pink to her. This young asian waitress (don't know her name because she didn't introduce herself nor do they wear name tags) preceded to go back and and forth with me with much attitude and the worst customer service ever. She then was like well what do you want then and tried to say I was going to have to pay for the chicken I took literally one bite off of. I told her ummm I won't be paying for that and don't worry about my new order I wanted to place because she wasn't trying to hear me place it in the first place and I didn't trust her having the kitchen making my food after all of that. I was just there trying to enjoy my spring break off with a few good friends. While they enjoyed there food I just sipped my drink. I also asked to speak to the manager while there and was told by the waitress no manager was there. On my way out I asked the young lady who appeared to be the hostess for the managers information. She then informed me that she was the assistant manager and didn't know why my waitress would say a manager was not there. So not only was my waitress rude, she lied. I got the general managers name and will be making my call to her. To think I was going to bring my daughter and friends here for part of a birthday outing. We will just do Crab & Bar or KrabKingz in DeSoto!! Don't know what's happening to the good...
