Horrendous service! I've been there 3 times now and on each time before the place seemed disorganized which caused a lot of delays being seated and served in a timely manner. This last time though my girl and I are maybe 1 of 3 groups seated at first. Our server takes our drink order and doesn't come back with chips and salsa until after the margaritas are blended (5-6) mins. Then brings us the drinks and leaves for maybe another 10 mins. Then finally comes take our order to which we put in being again one of 3 groups in this place. 5 more groups come in, get seated, have their drinks and food ordered and received their food before our food came out. Maybe another 20 mins goes by before server checks on us which prompts me to just ask for a bill. She takes another 5 mins to get a bill to me and doesn't say whether or not she is taking it or to pay up front (which it has changed the other 2 times I was there so wasn't sure which to do). We decide to wait it out another 10 mins before just getting up and paying at the bar. At the bar I asked the bartender if it is the standard to pay here or at the table and he says it just depends on your server. Wow. So I'm curious if the servers expect mind reading out of the customers cuz I left my crystal ball at home.
The worst part of this review is that their food is amazing. The street tacos are something that I'm definitely going to miss because it just isn't worth the poor service. Get you...
Read moreWe have been ordering Mexican every night on our road trip to and from Virginia and South Dakota and we were especially excited about this restaurant because the website said everything was scratch made daily and we had been getting really good food from every previous place that we visited that had this same cuisine. Unfortunately our chile rellenos were really bad. We got three of them and they were all greasy and had the strangest breading on the outside of them. We also didn't receive silverware with our takeout order so we had to use just plastic forks we got from our hotel. This was a problem because after the forks failed the chiles were even hard to take apart by hand. My husband got two beef burritos and he only ate one because of the grease and salt level (we are salt lovers). The beans and rice were edible and so was the chips and salsa. Thank God because that's pretty much all we ended up eating. We are not sure if we will even be up to getting Mexican food at a different location tonight after the experience of this food. :( Maybe try the other burritos they have to offer outside of the standard beef burrito and the other items, but do not order the...
Read moreIt had been a few months since I last ate at Adelitas. The last time I did, I had street tacos and the tortillas were kind of soggy. Considering the meat on them was very dry, not sure how that happened. Surprisingly, it was the same exact thing this time. The difference was an older and rather sullen waiter, a notification that there was now a 4% convenience fee to use my credit card, a seriously reduced menu, really thick chips and bland, nearly flavorless salsa, and all of the prices had went up.
I do not like being charged a convenience fee to use my card. Those fees are a cost of doing business. Given that the food prices increased, I think the 'convenience fee' was a little excessive. If they took checks, that wouldn't even be that big of a deal, but they don't.
I do realize food prices have went up and therefore menu prices had to go up and I am ok with that part. The lesser quality of the food is another matter, as is the grumpy old man that served us.
Given that I, like most other people, do not carry much in the way of cash, I suspect it is going to be sometime before I bother to eat...
