anh's Bread Therapy bakery and tea house — Restaurant in Cedar Rapids

I do recommend Anh’s Bread Therapy; it has a cozy “small shop” feel, excellent quality, and some of the friendliest service I’ve experienced.

I’ve visited twice now (once a few months ago and once recently), and both times were wonderful. Their breads are incredibly fresh, and the desserts are delicious. They seem to keep the menu rotating, which makes every visit exciting because there’s always something new to try.

The customer service deserves special mention. The woman at the front is fantastic; she explains everything with enthusiasm, never rushes you, and makes you feel welcome. The chef clearly pours her heart into the food, and you can taste it in every bite.

Most recently, I had their Ube Burnt Basque Cheesecake, and it was honestly melt-in-your-mouth good. I’ve eaten in major cities across the world, and it’s rare to find something this good in the Cedar Rapids area. Truly impressive!

My only suggestion: for breads with fillings, it would be amazing to see some with savory options like chicken or beef. I think that would pair perfectly with...

I was so excited to see the great reviews on Anh's sourdough so I made the trip to Newbo to buy some. I bought 2 loaves and shame on me - I noticed they were hard but bought them anyway. When we tried to cut them that evening, we nearly bent the serrated bread knife trying to cut through the loaf and it even smelled burnt. I called and got voice mail and at the suggestion of the message, texted the number. Sent two texts asking if she would replace the loaves. No response to the two texts and never answered the phone when I called. I'm disappointed, to say the least. Just return my call or answer my text. Not good customer service, in my opinion. And I believe she had to have known those two loaves were burnt and overbaked when she sold them to me. ...

First time here and certainly not the last time. I had the Beerbrat Kolache and talk about love at FIRST BITE! It was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. It was so good that I drove back after texting my wife how good it was to get her one as words don’t do it justice. She was amazed as well. The bread is light with a sweet taste that isn’t overpowering. It’s just unlike anything you’ve had in a good way. My friend got the pig in a blanket which was also delicious.
