Donutland — Restaurant in Cedar Rapids

I'm really disappointed. I clicked the link online that said, get a free T-shirt for national donut day with the purchase of a big box. So I clicked the link followed it and placed my preorder. 2 big boxes and 12 donut holes. I went to pick it up.Waited in line, get to the front and Noticed it was just the two big boxes, Asked about the donut holes and was told that they were refunded because it's national donut day and they aren't making any. That needs to be put on the website then. Then I say I'll take a large shirt, They say I don't get one when I preordered. I pre ordered from the link that said , I got a free shirt. They make that right they give me the shirt. Then I get home and pull out the six donuts that are my family's (24 for my boys soccer team) I don't have the donuts I ordered. 6 are wrong. I ordered days before and they had the donuts that I wanted there. I don't know if it's because of the fact that I ordered online (which I will never do again obviously), If they just don't care hoping that no one's going to notice it, because you're not watching them physically put them into the box but I'm just disappointed. 54 dollars in donuts and only 80% was correct. The pickup was at 630. They had the donuts I wanted/ordered on...

Cake donuts!

I grew up outside of Iowa & Donutland was the first "cake" donut I've ever had. Honestly, I was not a fan at first. I really just didn't get it. I thought they tasted great, but I maintained they just weren't donuts.

I continued trying different cake donuts over & over in CR from other places for the next 20 yrs...at work, parties, wherever...and I realized that the only cake donuts I enjoyed were Donutland's. They're just too good. I've caved and admit cake donuts are their own special category. If I want yeast donuts, there are half a dozen good options. If I want a cake donut, it has to be Donutland.

Recently I went 2x to the Center Pt location & got sprinkles that were slightly different? They're always fresh, but these seemed less dense/fluffier, a little bigger & almost a bit more coffecake tasting. I'm not sure if I'm crazy, but they are an improvement on what was already very good! Whoever is baking there...

If you're not from around the area and are looking for quality donuts, then you MUST visit Donutland. Coming here for the first time is like a right of passage as a local. I have many memories as a child coming to this donut shop, seeing the old men sitting around at the tables with a pot of coffee and donuts and it's still the same. The donuts are just amazing! They are cake donuts, made here. This is a small local business who knows how to make quality donuts! The cherry and blueberry are always a must, the sprinkles are a favorite of mine. All the donuts are amazing and you can't go wrong. The service is always friendly! Even when they are super busy and a line is out the door. We moved away from Cedar Rapids and are back visiting and this is always a must on our trips. Do skip on Donutland! Go early because when they sell out, they are out.
