To be fair, I would give Koo's a 3.5⭐️s if I had that option. The 1 through 5 option doesn't give alot of room for nuance. So I'll do my best in my description. I ordered the 2 piece catfish with hot wings and a side of fries. The catfish was pretty good. The fish flavor was a little strong. (Not that it was bad, just an FYI), but I was not disappointed. The batter was tasty, and not too oily. Not the best I've had. But not terrible either. The wings were ok. No real zing or spiciness. The ranch dressing was packaged so there was no real way to improve on a so-so wing. A little extra effort on a homemade ranch goes a long way. (That goes for any mayo based sauce. TARTAR INCLUDED!) That being said it was pretty good. The fries were fine. Nothing to write home about. After my visit, I read some reviews, and the gumbo seemed to have some positive reviews. Bummed I wasn't able to give it a go. And since I'm not up that way much, not sure I'll get the chance. This place is hit or miss. I live right next door and will no longer bring my business here. For the first few visits I didn't deal with the owners, just a part time worker. My orders were correct, fresh and yummy. Today however I walked in and noticed a different cashier, an older woman. Upon receiving my order she insisted it was correct when it was not. I ordered chicken on my sandwich and received beef. When I asked for them to remake it she flat out ignored me and I had to ask atleast 3 times and she said "No" without making eye contact. Food is not as good as it used to be last year. I’m not sure if they changed cooks but last year in the summer I used to come almost every other day for the salmon, rice, and broccoli. Towards the end of last year they began cooking the salmon hard. The salmon used to be very tender, moist, and seasoned perfectly. Now it is hard and dry. The rice is bland and sometimes hard. The broccoli is sometimes hard as well. Whoever is cooking in the back is honestly not doing their best job on the salmon.
