I’m not a coffee drinker. But a local chef I follow and patronize raved about Rochelle’s grit bowl, so I decided to try breakfast here. I wished that it was advertised that breakfast was sold here because I always thought this place was just a coffee spot. Anyway, I was sooooo impressed with the cuteness of the decor inside. It felt very cozy and intimate. Soft music played in the background. I love the branding on the cups and other merchandise for purchase. Upon entering, my friend and I were greeted warmly. We placed our orders and found a place to sit. The seats were comfy and a bright red that matched the theme of it also being a lounge. There was a little free library where you could take home a free book. There were several small tvs available to watch. Our food came out after a short wait. Yall….my grit bowl was absolutely splendid! The grits were creamy and perfect- not too thick, not too thin. The meats were delicious as were the eggs. My friend enjoyed his pancakes but also wanted to try the grit bowl after hearing me rave about mine. After he devoured his, he agreed that it was just as good as I told him it was. My peach smoothie came in this cute little sealed cup with the branding on it. I love a business that doesn’t skip on the branding! I enjoyed my experience here 100% and I’m even thinking of returning tomorrow morning for breakfast! One thing I would improve: I hope the owners consider advertising that they sell breakfast as well. Folks like me that may not be coffee drinkers but who love breakfast will gladly patronize the business…if we know they sell more than coffee. Overall, this place...
Read moreNot a lot happens in Center Point, so when it does, I try to notice. I’ve been following Rochelle’s Place on Instagram for awhile, but only recently visited for the first time because it’s the opposite direction of my work commute. When I got there, CBS42 was interviewing the owner (I’ll guess) outside the restaurant. That’s a good thing; although, the interviewer might have moved things a little so the entry door wasn’t blocked. I thought it rude to ask them to move, so I waited, thankfully only 5 minutes or so.
Small, clean place with a few tables. I had seen Chicken Fiesta Dip on their online menu, but didn’t notice it on the restaurant menu board. That might have been an oversight on my part. I did ask, and it was available. It’s a cheesy dip with tomatoes, olives, extra shredded cheese and lots of shredded chicken. It’s really good! I got my order with warmed corn chips. The perfect amount as the dip was done with the last chip. The Chicken Fiesta Dip is also available as a sandwich in a croissant.
I also splurged on a Strawberry Frappe. Also delicious!
Rochelle’s Place is just off Center Point Parkway, but the storefront is a bit hidden. I hope they’re able to generate enough curiosity and business to stay around for...
Read moreWow, I am so thoroughly impressed with this black owned business! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a friendly hello and a bright smile. The ambience and decor was completely fitting for a coffee shop. There were lots of interesting signs to look at local artwork and even merch that you could buy. All the way from black financial literacy books to some really cool 3-D mugs! I wanted to buy everything lol. The coffee was fantastic. I got a caramel macchiato and just look at the way that it’s made! Absolutely delicious and the coffee was strong, but smooth at the same time. I believe they Use their own beans because they were also selling that in the store which is convenient. I would drink this coffee every day, honestly. In addition, they have smoothies and Boba tea, which I’m gonna try as well. I got the small grits and sausage bowl and let me tell you I haven’t had grits that tasted this creamy and smooth in forever. The sausage as well had a lot of flavor and seasonings. Also got a turkey croissant, which was delicious. I highly recommend coming by here one day and just spending some time. Everyone is friendly and I just love the Atmosphere here. SUPPORT...
