Five Guys — Restaurant in Center Township

I normally love 5 guys, they’re my favorite chain burger and fries. Never had a bad experience till going to this branch. Drove 15 minutes there, paid $40 for 2 burgers and 2 Lg fries plus tip, and drove another 15 home. I tried a few fries when I got out to my car and they were soggy, much more greasy than normal, and hardly seasoned. I was hoping it was just a few bad fries on top and drove home. Unfortunately, it wasn’t just a few bad fries. They were so mushy that I could barely get them out of the cup. Even putting them in the air fryer didn’t help, they tasted as if they’ve been cooked in old oil. My burger was also screwed up and inedible. I know they’re a fairly new branch and I hope they get better with time, but 30 minutes round-trip and $40 just to end up with no dinner tonight is a little ridiculous.

Updated 5/3/2025- we haven’t been to this branch in a year because of our bad experience last time. So we decided to try it out again tonight. Somewhat better experience from last time. My bacon burger was dry and bland, they added onion to both mind and my husbands burgers (didn’t ask for and don’t like onion). Fries weren’t as soggy, and didn’t taste like old oil like last time so that was a plus. But the fries were also very bland. Overall another disappointing dinner from what used to be my favorite burger and fries chain. We won’t be going back to the CP branch again. I recommend sticking with Valpo Or Schererville branch. I was craving a burger and have been wanting to check out this new location. I was pretty disappointed to be honest.

I'll start with the good. My fries were hot and flavorful.

The bad. My burger wasn't hot. I ordered in the restaurant, grabbed my order when my number was called, and drove three minutes to where I ate.

I don't eat at five guys often but have been to a few in various states over the years and I've always been given an abundance of fries in my cup and in the bag. It always helped ease my mind for the overall cost. I attached a photo of the small amount in the bag today.

Website time said closes at 1:00am and door said closes at 10pm when we got there. So to be considerate and confirm on closing time i ran inside to ask if they closed at 10:00pm and they said yes so i responded i will leave and they kept saying it was fine and then the manager came out and said "Would you just hurry up, not trying to be rude." I have never been spoken to like that especially when I was trying to be considerate to them closing and am such an easy person. They need to take another look at who is managing...
