Went in this morning for the second time (first time for breakfast), and I was looking for a traditional nut or poppy seed log/roll. I was met at the counter by what ended up being a rude old crotchety woman. After realizing she didn't have what I wanted, she proceeded to take a cinnamon scone from the cart, cut a sample (without even asking if I wanted one), and sticking it in my face. I politely declined stating I didn't like scones. Than she tried selling me on another one. I said no thanks, and proceeded to leave. As I got to the exit, presuming I couldn't hear her (which I did), she said to her co worker "what's his problem? He didn't even want a sample". I took a step to turn around and call her out on her rudeness, but decided I'd pass my story here where it would have the greatest impact. First, as I stated, she didn't ASK if I wanted a sample. Also, as far as declining it. Maybe I am diabetic, and am not interested in consuming sugar I don't want. Maybe I don't like eating without something to drink with it. Maybe you should offer coffee with your samples. Or maybe it was just as I stated. I just don't like scones. Maybe you should politely ask if your customers are interested in a sample before sticking it in their face. Most of all, people go to a specialty shop to not only receive quality food above what you can get at any regular grocery store, but expect a higher degree of customer service as well. What you said behind my back as I left was absolutely poor and unprofessional. I don't think even the workers at STracks or Jewel would show so little class and customer service. I will never be back, and will spread the word of your mistreatment to all I know. Considering it was 7:30am.......... ON A SATURDAY MORNING........ and not a soul was eating at your café tables, it looks like I am not missing much. There will always be an $8 job for you waiting at STracks when your...
Read moreUm...WOW. This is the first place in awhile we have tried that the food TASTES as good as the picture! Pleasantly surprised. Whenever we try a new place, we will order a sampling of a variety, (if we don't like it, we've supported small business and will move on). This time EVERYTHING was on par - quality, freshness, taste, and value. You could tell they did not spare quality ingredients.
Trek Bars - Tasty - Healthy - Chewy - we could feel the energy surge!
Cinnamon Chip Cream Cheese Scone - Omgosh I do not normally like scones! Id feel like im swallowing sand! But this - was not dry at all and very flavorful!
Chocolate Chip Cookie - For transparency, they had ran out and gave us a chocolate chocolate chip one. But wow - the cookie was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and chewy when you ate. I felt like a kid!!
Brownie - This was awesome! The last time we had a brownie this good was in Chicago from German visitors that made German Chocolate brownies. This thing was just delicious! Crispy, chewy, rich - tasted like real chocolate. Was a REAL brownie - not cakey and raw/dense !
Blondie - If she was a girl, Id have dated her! :) This was the real deal, a blondie the way they are supposed to be. A distinct difference in rich vanilla flavor but perfect texture. The butter flavor just pops to!
Cubano - We've never had a real cubano. But this was fun to eat! The meat was salty, tender, and flavorful. The pickle was fresh and crisp and not limp and chewy.
Classic Bacon Biscuit- Best Biscuit ever! Dare I say it, way better than a Red crustacean restaurant biscuit! It doesnt taste manufacturered! It tasted fresh and not dense! Bacon was crispy and we added avocado. The way they added it made it taste like the green butter of the gods!!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE maintain this quality...
Read moreI want to start with a nice statement. The food was not bad, not as great as I was expecting or the price would reflect, but it tasted fine. The lady in the front generously offered samples of anything in site. That is where the good review ends. Upon getting drinks, I noticed there were tables cramped on top of eachother and several were left dirty so it was slim picking. We waited a bit too long for sandwiches and a soup, but none of that is the REAL issue. The real problem started when I noticed a child sitting by himself, barefoot, food all over his face, playing at one of the tables. That seemed odd but I just assumed the adult was in the rest room or something. WRONG.....it seemed that the adult was one of the employees and this child was allowed to walk back into the kitchen area BAREFOOT and touch mixing bowls, pull down and play with 2 funnels, and touch the inside of the mixing bowl that had dough in it. I then saw him try to climb the side of the large mixing bowl but the adult had enough sense to at least stop that. It's still gross! This must be against some health codes. I was completely disgusted. This is sad because the place has potential to be amazing, but I severely doubt I will EVER go back. update It is interesting to me that the reviews around mine are being addressed or praised but my very specific review of a bad situation is being ignored. Definitely makes me 100% confident in the decision to not go back and I truly hope...
