My family and I went to the Crown Point location tonight for a late night dinner as it's one of the few restaurants open later in the area. The last few times we've been, it's been mediocre, each time a little worse than the time before, but tonight was downright terrible. While waiting to be seated, we watched staff member after staff member walk by, without even acknowledging that we were there, ask if we had been helped, nothing. Though a few did stop in front of us to admire a staff members new tattoo before continuing on as if we were not at the host stand waiting to be seated. Eventually, someone came over and asked "how many?" looked around at all the empty tables that were covered in dishes and dirty, and told us he'd wipe one down for us. When we were sat, there was food all over the floor, and so much staff standing around for the restaurant to be in the condition it was in, especially for being not all that busy. We ordered sodas, and we're brought cups half full, at this time we were told the soda machine was broken but if they could figure it out, they'd fill the cup up. Our server then returned to tell us it would not be fixed tonight, and offered water, iced tea, or lemonade. The entire time we watched a gentleman in a tank top, shorts, and slides going in and out of the kitchen while splitting his time in the kitchen with his time at a table with what appeared to be 5 friends. At one point another kitchen staff member poked his head out, asked for help, the guy in street clothes disappeared into the kitchen for a few minutes, and returned with food for his table of friends where he took a seat again and went back to socializing. We paid our bill and stopped in the restroom on our way out. The bathroom floor was littered with paper towel and toilet paper, but this just matched the state of the rest of the restaurant, crap everywhere. We won't be back. Once upon a time this location was great. The last two years it has been going down hill, and now it belongs on an episode...
Read moreI have worked in the restaurant industry for over 30 years and I have never once intentionally done something to someone’s food. Today I took my family to the Crown Point Indiana location located off broadway. I wanted to order boneless wings with the “golden fire” sauce. Let me tell you this sauce is probably the best wing sauce I have ever tasted. When I went to order I was told the sauce is only available for take out orders. I thought this was odd and server offered to ask manager if they would make exception, when server returned she made a point to tell me her GM would not make an exception. So my wife and daughters ordered their food and I opted to place my order through the app and would just eat when I got home. I should have been more suspicious when the server asked me more than once if I placed the order and wanted to know my name and bring it to me personally. My family ate and server brought me the food. I wish now I would have checked the food while in the dining room. I did not. When I got home I noticed right away it had the wrong sauce by color and taste. Apparently someone thought it would be funny to put the wild sauce on my food instead of the golden fire sauce I ordered. I decided to taste and new immediately that it was the wrong sauce. I called location and let them know I was returning for refund. When I arrived at location I asked for GM, she did not offer her name, I explained to her what happened she said well it looks right to me, I assured her that it was not as I have frequently eaten them. She offered to remake I declined as I will no longer trust this establishment to do the right thing and asked to be refunded. This location has lost my business forever. You simply can not break the trust of the consumer this way. It may not sound like much but I easily contributed 3000 to 3500 annually to this store. That revenue will land somewhere else. Not to mention I will go out of my way to let everyone I know about this experience. ...
Read moreIt's rough chief. Very rough. Granted I came in during the tail end of the Bengals/Chiefs game so I expected service to be slow when the game was going on. What I did not expect was foe my appetizer and main course to he served at the same time, nor did I expect the bar tender to flirt/shoot the breeze heavily with other patrons. Had I not been offered refills only at beginning and end of my meal this review would have been nicer. For all I know there could still be a worker shortage going on, and if that is the case, disregard this review. However, if not, then what happened?
This isn't the only time I've had a problem here with my order, in fact a few weeks ago I had come here and ordered fried pickles and a burger. The burger came but the fried pickles never arrived. I had asked the same bar tender if I could take it off my bill, as I never received it. While she was nice in the whole ordeal, it was rather interesting that she went to the kitchen to see if they were made, as if to give me the app right after I finished the main course. Granted, it did hop off the check, but the whole ordeal was.....rather weird. I didn't really understand why we had to jump through those hoops when the very same bartender saw I never got the app to start with.
Ill end with this:
I mean this in the most respectful way possible, at least old Sunday bar crew knew when to take out...
