We all hit up the food court the other day and ended up at Ruby Thai Kitchen—let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint. Lillian’s been raving about it since her first bite, and now I get why. Those two women running the place are all smiles and heart, making sure everything that comes out of their kitchen is on point.
I had my doubts, but after they handed us a sample on our walk-through, I was sold. The flavors are just there—sweet, spicy, perfect balance, nothing too over the top, just right. And even Oceano couldn’t get enough of it. The kid loved the chicken so much, he’s already asking when we’re going back. He seriously wants more, which says a lot because he’s picky as hell.
It’s not just the food, though. The vibe of the place feels good—genuine. The women behind the counter bring a warmth that makes you feel welcome every time. They’re serving more than just food; they’re serving love with every plate. And man, the flavors? Bold, fresh, everything you’d want in a quick meal. Even the sauces take things up a notch—made everything taste better, even the rice, which is usually just there as a filler.
Bottom line, we all loved it. Ruby Thai Kitchen is one of those spots we’re definitely coming back to. It’s not just about filling you up—it’s about the whole experience. If Oceano’s begging for a return trip, you...

I've been meaning to try Ruby Thai Kitchen for awhile now. The Mango chicken samples are always tasty, like orange chicken with a lil chutzpah. A 2-item combo is $6 & change, so not bad.
Here were my 2 items-
Basil Beef-Deelicious! The meat was very tender & had lots of peppers. Like Broccoli Beef with a spicy kick.
Chicken Curry-Also good! Nothing extraordinary, but also not underwhelming.
I wouldn't pick the pad thai because I know not to expect great things from not so fresh, fast food pad thai.
I would have rated it 3 1/2 stars except that they skimp on the food. The server filled the container just level to the bottom half, whereas someplace like Panda Express fills it above level. Hey, I guess I can't complain since I've had lots & lots of mango chicken samples in the past. Probably enough to fill a tray. Ah, the good ol' days...
Overall, I will be coming back to try the curry rice, soups & other Thai...
Read moreEvery time my husband and I go to the Cerritos Mall we grab our free samples here and order the two dish meal with fried rice, rice noodles, teriyaki chicken and crispy orange chicken. The portions are really generous so there's always a lot of leftovers to take home. They need to have better cashiers though. Since they're working with the public constantly, they need to actually smile and not frown, actually have eye contact and actually greet customers. This could make or break their business. We've never encountered a good cashier who has done any of these things. Lucky for them, we come back for the food. Others may not be as forgiving and never come back again. I'm still giving them 5 stars, but if they don't hire better cashiers, I'll come back and drop it...
