We stopped in for Sunday breakfast, and I want to start with the positives: the food was absolutely outstanding—easily a 5/5. Honestly, it might be the best breakfast I’ve ever had, or at least in the conversation for top five. On top of that, the prices were fantastic—better than most other breakfast spots we frequent.
That said, the experience left a lot to be desired. Granted, we went on a Sunday morning at peak time (around 10:45 a.m.), but we didn’t leave until about 12:30 p.m. so be prepared to wait if you go then. We waited about 30 minutes just to get a table, another 15 minutes before anyone brought menus or took our drink orders, and then about an hour for our food to come out. Timing-wise, that’s a 1/5 in my book.
The service itself felt understaffed, though the servers were friendly when they did check in. I’d give it 2/5 on that front.
One tip: if you go for counter service, it’s much faster. We watched a couple groups in front of us choose that option, and they got their drinks and food much quicker, finishing and leaving a good 20–30 minutes before us.
Overall, I’d absolutely come back for the food and prices, but I’d avoid Sunday mornings around 10:30 unless you have...
Read moreI know this place is historic and very popular among locals. Now that the renovation is complete, it feels fresh and new. After the changes, I see so much potential for it to become even better, so I want to share some constructive feedback they can work on.
The food was excellent, which is the most important thing for any restaurant. However, the flow and structure for handling customers could be improved. For example, there should be a system to record the names of people waiting in line. Since there was no such system, it felt disorderly. The side door, marked “No Entrance,” should also be locked, as some people still use it, adding to the confusion.
The payment process is also unusual. After the meal, you have to figure out who you need to pay, which can be inconvenient.
I truly wish the best for them, and I hope this feedback is helpful. The view and atmosphere are...
