Our recent trip to Chama NM unearthed a true treasure. We headed to breakfast on our first morning there and wandered into Fina's. The parking lot was full and it's a small place ( used to be a garage). We got pretty much the last table and immediate service. The Coca-Cola ambiance and the hometown pride decor was just awesome. The smells of amazing food had me ready to order. I am very particular about my eggs and hashbrowns and got them just the way I like them. Hubby order the ham and cheese omelet. The portions were very generous and the food was hot, fresh and fantastic. Everything was so good we went a second time on our way home. I had the bacon, egg and cheese smothered burrito. It was the BEST and enough food for 2. Hubby had the full stack of pancakes with sausage ( also enough for 2). We felt bad about leaving such amazing food on our plates but could not have fit another bite. I will offer that I have some serious digestive issues and nothing bothered me that I ate. Fina and Bill offered great conversation right along with amazing food. Every single person was welcomed and well taken care off. They open at 6 am so if you are an early riser or happen to be taking one of the special early trains on the Cumbres and Toltec please give them an early call for a take out breakfast. I promise you will not be disappointed. Fina's motto is "a Place where friends gather". I would add, if you aren't one when you come in you will be...
Read moreToday was the first time we had been there. We went to Chama for fireworks, and I asked the fireworks stand where there was a good place to eat. He said go to Fina's. Then he said that his wife would be our waitress. I asked him, do you own the place? He said actually I do, then jokingly I told him no wonder your biased. He starts laughing and said just try it. So we went. A little hole in the wall with maybe 4 cars. Across the street was another restaurant with about 20 cars. I told my wife maybe we came to the wrong place. We tried it anyway. One word, OK maybe two. Freaken Wow. I ordered the Fina's special. Humongous. I almost had to be wheelchaired out. The green chili was hot, the food was steaming hot, and my belly was full, and I had half a burrito to spare. I am a green chili connoisseur, and I have to say. Absolutely the best breakfast I had ever eaten. Great prices, and huge portions. I have found a gem in the rough. Thank you Fina. The best food in Chama, and in...
Read moreMy family looked at the menu here and spent about 15 minutes getting out order together before calling. But apparently this menu is completely wrong, and they say they can't change it. The people answering the phone are not helpful. I called twice and talked to two different people. They just say go to Facebook. We'll, I'm sorry, but what about people who don't have Facebook? They have no other information, even though I was asking about their menu and trying to get information. I finally got that they are serving hamburgers and Mexican food.... so I asked what kind of burritos do they have. The answer was simply "beef or bean." That's it? It doesn't seem that they care about getting business or helping a person out. We were really looking forward to trying their burritos shown in the pictures and from the great reviews. We are...
