I’ve eaten at Cravings many, many times. As a college student in the early 2010s, it was the place I could go and get amazing food for a good price. My friends and I were regulars; the person at the counter knew our orders. One entree equaled two meals, so in college math, that’s cheaper than groceries.

Recently, I returned and found my self drawn back to experience those same flavors and the comfort that comes from a plate of homemade food. Time has not altered that place one bit. The prices are still great. The food is amazing. The service is excellent.

Don’t go here expecting anything fancy. It isn’t fine dining, but not everything that’s five stars is fine dining. Do go here to enjoy great food at a great price with complimentary chrysanthemum tea that hits the spot every time. Cravings has perfected what it does, and the campus is so much...

I've been coming here for around 10 years except for the time when covid first hit and during my time as a vegan and I've always found the owner and his family super polite. They always seem happy and to appreciate your business. They are able to help you make selections and are very open to customizing your order for spice levels or for some vegetables. However, I've become stuck on the fish masala. 😅 It's just too good. A nice little spice level, very lightly battered or breaded fish and green bell peppers, carrots and onions. All seasoned with a masala or curry like flavor. I highly recommend it and the restaurant. It's very affordable, always has complimentary tea and water and the portion size gives me...

I ordered diced chicken with black bean sauce. Absolutely disgusting. The chicken was not only fried, but also very tough, and its texture very strange (it was "stringy"). It seemed like it was stored in a freezer for a very long time and then re-heated. The "black bean sauce" that was poured over the chicken was clear (it had no color), with only small, sparse remnants of black bean mixed in. The entire dish had a salty kind of flavor distributed all throughout, so I wasn't able to discern if the "sauce" had any of its own taste. In summary, the chicken didn't feel like chicken, and the sauce didn't feel like sauce -- definitely an odd dish. I had to throw most of it away. The only part that I enjoyed...

The place is always bustling but for good reason! I like the chrysanthemum tea 🍵 They were offering it complimentary during my visit and it was a nice touch! I ordered the general tso's chicken. It came with white rice and a broccoli garnish. It was more sweet than spicy and cooked firm but not too hard or too mushy - just right! I also had the egg drop soup which was cooked to perfection - not slimy and thick nor too thin! Again, just right! Hosts are always very pleasant and patient as you look over their extensive menu. Good portion sizes and prices are right, especially on a student budget!

Was excited to try this restaurant as we just dropped off our son. We re from N side of Chicago so was expecting decent Chinese food. We must have ordered the wrong things. Cause the beef chowfun and Mongolian chicken did not look like what they’re supposed to look like. They looked similar. Tasted similar. And so much onions. Maybe I should have tried orange chicken and that other beef dish in one of the reviews. It was not good but not bad. Meh. Even AI labeled them as stir fry chicken and onions with chicken. I had to edit the labels. Maybe I got the wrong order ?
