Back Alley BBQ — Restaurant in Chandler

Stopped by last night to check this place out. The wife and I decided to split several things and we got the tri-tip, half rack of ribs, and the brisket. For sides we tried the cornbread, mac n’ cheese, and baked beans. I was pleasantly surprised.

The brisket, tri-tip and ribs were tender and really good. They have a nice, light, seasoning on them. The baked beans were good…a little smoky with a light chili spice. The cornbread was great…thick and heavy with a light honey coating on the top, corn pieces mixed in and just a hint of sweetness. The Mac n’ cheese was also very good. The only thing I would say is once it cooled down it got fairly hard as we were going back to finish it.

Ordering is done counter side. You order, get your tray of food, pay at the register and then grab a seat. There is a large indoor area with plenty of seating, full bar with seating, and an outside terrace with seating. Three BBQ sauces available for table side (all were great) that include their original, spicy, and Gold sauce.

Kyra is amazing and so welcoming and engaging. The owners (Mike, Tom, and Bill) are all super nice and they seem to be customer focused which is awesome to see in a sales focused business. You don’t see that very often even though it’s common sense. The chef (Kenny) came out to greet me so I was just super impressed. We came in during their soft opening and enjoyed a 4 meat tray and some sides. We got the sausage, turkey, brisket, and spare ribs. For sides we got cornbread and elote.
