Really love the food, but aren't able to get a seat.
Called ahead to either make a reservation or be put on a wait list / call ahead list as I know this location is busy. Did this just last week and it was a non-issue and we really enjoyed our meal (we even tipped heavy for great service, if that matters).
I was told this time by whoever answered the phone that they did not make reservations and refused to place me on a call ahead list for a party less then 6 people. Also informed me the wait time was currently at 30 minutes.
So, the options I was given were to come in person and wait up to 30 minutes before being seated -- but that time would only start once I was physically on location. This might not be a big issue for some people, and forgive me for being entitled here--but having to stand and wait for half an hour simple means we cannot dine here. There are maybe three seats for people to wait at the entryway and the last time we visited they were not available and we had to stand briefly--so I refuse to be told there is seating availability while waiting.
My partner has multiple diagnosed chronic illnesses and is unable to stand and wait. Combined with a host of other symptoms, our selection of places to go out and actually enjoy a meal are really limited. I get that some people really don't understand this because they haven't had to deal with food restrictions and health issues, but this location's allergy friendly (and delicious!) menu really made it one of our favourite places to go.
But how can we eat there if we can't call ahead? It's the middle of the summer in Arizona...... please think ahead on this.
Lady on the phone said something about "talking to the establishment" and how "maybe" if what I said about being able to call ahead last week "actually happened" that it was too difficult on everyone to seat and that it cost the company too much money. I don't know about how much of that is true, but if it all is then I really hope the establishment or management read this and understand how difficult it makes people with disabilities to eat at their location.
I'd appreciate a response if possible, but I'm not sure if this is monitored by the...
Read moreIf I could give less than one star, I would. It was my friend’s birthday and we were a party of 8. She called ahead to reserve a table to which they said was no problem. We arrive and the staff not only did not have to table ready, but we were told that they don’t do reservations very abrasively and rudely by management and that it’d be a 20min wait. It was not a 20min wait, it was literally AN HOUR long wait outside in the summer heat with no seating or misters and no room inside because it was so busy. We kept checking in periodically because we wanted to leave and were miserable and kept being told it’ll be another five min.
We’re finally seated. My friend orders her 5 year old some pancakes as soon as we’re seated. Her food didn’t come out until half way through everyone’s meals because either the order wasn’t put in or the kitchen forgot. My other friend, birthday girl, had half her meal arrive late. My husband’s food didn’t get served until we were all completely finished with our food. So I asked if any compensation could be made because we were just so frustrated with the whole experience at this point. (An hour long wait and an hour and a half at the table due to slow service and delayed food.) To which the waitress replied that she’d rather pay for it out of her own pocket than have to go to management with the issue. I didn’t want her to pay for something that is management’s responsibility in how they’re running the place. So she got them to take off the meal. Yet at no point did management approach us to apologize or ask about the issue.
My friend’s bill comes and they charged her one of our drinks that we already paid for cause we got our bill before her. So we had to resolve the issue amongst ourselves cause it was too late to fix.
All in all, this was the worst, most unorganized, time consuming restaurant experience I’ve ever had. And the food and coffee was mediocre at best. None of us will ever be returning. Don’t waste your time...
Read moreFirst and foremost, this place has amazing water. I know right!? Water??? But how often can you go to a restaurant and get fresh ice water that tastes great?! They bring it out in carafes with lots of ice and cucumber slices. Great way to start!!
I had a breakfast cocktail. If I'm honest, there was somewhat of a lingering headache from the previous night's wine. I had a grapefruit martini. The flavor was great but the glass they served it in, well it made it seem like it was half a drink. Serve it in a different glass and people won't have that feeling...
The food was great! I had a veggie omelette with side sausage and sourdough bread. When they brought my omelette she asked me if I ordered extra done eggs, to which I said no. She replied and said that the eggs looked a little bit overdone. I agreed and sent the omelet back. I'm actually always a little bit wary about getting an omelet for this very reason! 5 to 8 minutes later my freshly made omelet was back and it was amazing! The veggies are not overcooked and still crisp, and the eggs were still silky and creamy. The sausage links were great, the star of the show was honestly the sourdough. It was real sourdough! You can tell it came from one of those artisan loafs... Great way to stop up an omelet...
The kids meals were great too. My boys had a Mickey omelette with bacon and fruit. Everything was cooked well and had great quality.
My sister-in-law had white chocolate pancakes. I'm not a big sweets fan but wow they were pretty amazing!
The service was also great. Remember the lady actually saw that my omelet was overcooked and made sure to ask me! Who does that??!?! Our waiter was attentive and polite.
Great outside patio with lots of space and the breezeway actually had a nice breeze going through it...
Aside from Joe's farm grill in Gilbert, this is the second best breakfast place I've been to here in the valley. And we will be...
