Julie, Julie, Julie! Hobby lobby in general is a great christian ran store. However tonight I experienced something different. I came in to rerun wall art I got as a gift (did not like it) of course no receipt. Julie was helping me she calls the manger over because she can’t find the item online and I didn’t have a receipt, at this point her energy is very tense and passive aggressive. The gentlemen comes over and she explains I have no receipt and it’s not coming up online. He says something like re type the numbers or something she raises the art work slightly covering her face and makes a face lifting her eye brows like she has no receipt we shouldn’t deal with her. she stated at her last store they weren’t allowed to return with out receipts but didn’t you get trained to work at hobby lobby Julie? Shouldn’t you know their policy? ….Julie was insinuating I was doing something unlawful by returning with out a receipt! HA. Ok. After several more minutes & asking another employee for help & getting my license, I ask her so have you been in customer service a long time? She states yes. She realizes she in fact did type the numbers wrong and it came up on sale from 24$ to 13$ She did apologize for (mistyping) and proceeds to give me a gift card for 13$. To confirm her judgment attitude I asked her politely the face guesture you made to the gentlemen what was that for? She instantly get’s offended and giggles she states I was talking about the wall art i know it’s a hassle but it’s policy. I asked it’s policy to treat people this way? I stated I’m not sure why someone would go out of their way for a 13$ gift card refund. She is giggling the entire time (does not) take accountability for her actions of course! …moral is the world is so ugly as it is Julie don’t go out of your way to judge strangers! After all don’t you work for a Christian store? I mean if anyone should judge your at least in your 60’s still working retail seems like you need the 13$ gift card more than I do. Maybe I’ll come back and give it to you, if you’d like to judge and (stereotype) get a new job! I will definitely be informing corporate! You shouldn’t make people feel that way. One of my hand bags costs more than 6 of your pay checks combined Julie. Choose kindness otherwise not so nice things will be thrown...
Read moreThe Gilbert and Germann store is spotless, well-stocked, helpful staff, and the KINDEST cashiers on Earth!! Listen...their gal named Trinitee is the sweetest, most patient cashier, who frequently works the Returns register, and never bats an eye at multiple bags and receipts...she makes you feel like you are the only customer who matters at that moment...and when I tell her that I might see her the next day, to bring it all back, she smiles and says, "OK, not a problem!" Customer Service, and kindness goes a LONNNNG way, when you have so many choices to shop. Hobby Lobby is like a mini-vacay on a small budget...the satisfaction reward is caring Cashiers, like Trinitee! I have asked many staff members for their help, and never felt like a burden. The female Head Cashier was jovial, and super respectful to her staff. I don't know about you...but I ENJOY shopping in a place where staff members are happy, and seem to enjoy their job. So they don't take coupons anymore...there are SO MANY WEEKLY DISCOUNTS...just wait a week, and it'll be on sale! I got some things on a Friday, they went on sale starting Monday, I brought them back, and they gave me the sale price...Cmon', who DOES THAT?!? This is MY STORE, and I've never had a bad shopping experience...sure they get busy...what store doesn't have rushes? But I've seen them periodically check the lines, and call for backup, and they're careful to take the next person in line. This store is the perfect blend of caring, community and...
Read moreThe purchase: Horrible customer service. I purchased some things, but by the time I got to my car, I realized I may have been charged incorrectly. I went back inside to ask, and even before I could show the employee my purchase and receipt, she starts explaining it away.
The merchandise: One of the things I purchased was sticking felt letters. I ended up returning them because they were utter crap. A seemingly random amount of each letter and number, with the assumption you can use W's for M's and Z's for N's.
The return: I walk in and wait up front. I see a front end supervisor of some sort. She doesn't greet me or see the bag in my hand or care at all, so she goes to tidy up the merch between the registers. I'm trying to make eye contact with anyone and everyone who works there, to no avail. Front end supervisor person comes back to her "station" of leaning up against the shopping cart rail, again making no eye contact. I finally go up to her and tell her I have a return. She yells me to go stand in the same long-ass line that people who are purchasing are in. All in all I spent about 20 minutes trying to return those crappy felt letters.
Every step of the way left me with absolutely no reason to come back, ever. I'll stick with the shy but knowledgeable geeks at Michael's and crabby but wise old...
