The food was so so so so so good!!! Collectively we ordered the tonkastu ramen (SO good. I really lived the broth and the meat was quality), spring rolls (yummy, well cooked), karaage (SO GOOD. japanese fried chicken), gyoza (quality. Always yummy anywhere. They are fried fried not pan fried), a few of yakisobas (SO GOOD) (I got the kid size to spend less money and it was a great amount! That plus a few gyoza and a few pieces of karaage and I was ready to burst cuz I was so full!), and a tuna roll and California roll (very good! California was very flavorful! Better than some other ones I've had, in my opinion). Also a huge plus was the prices, some of the appetizers were on the priceyer end for what they were but the main dishes were priced really well. Only like 8-11 dollars for the yakisobas I think, ramen was about 10 dollars? I don't quite remember but it wasn't crazy expensive at all. The only flaw with this place and the reason I took off a star is that the food took quite a while to arrive :/ But there was only one floor maid and seemed like one chef back there? Idk but it all took a bit. Granted, we were a big group (7 ppl) so maybe they weren't expecting such a rush on a Wednesday evening cuz there was quite a few people in there when we arrived. But besides the wait time everything was amazing! Clean restroom, a wonderful server and a great time! Will forsureee come back to try more stuff and would highly...
Read moreThis place has a very chill, low-key vibe. Their sushi is so good. Ever since i went here with my friend It's been my favorite non ayce sushi spot in AZ. I've been here twice. This second time around, we ordered: the combo salmon lover, kawaii chicken, and orange roll (I actually don't remember the name of it, but it's very similar to the plum one)
The salmon lover combo has been hands down my favorite. It comes with salmon Nigiri (4 pieces), salmon sashimi (4 pieces), and a salmon roll (8 pieces). And of course, a side or ginger and Wasabi. The Kawaii chicken was siprisingly really good. The sauce has some good sweet and spiciness to it. My only suggestion is for it to go along with some rice if you only order this item. The orange roll, which I don't think is what it's called, but what ev. It's identical to the plum roll. The tuna and salmon are just switched around. Surprisingly, I like the plum roll a lot more. I think when you first bite it, the sauces go best with the tuna on the surface.
I think the 3 items we got together were a good amount to share between the 2. If we were richer, then we would've ordered more 🙈 the staff were nice and attentive. I had no concerns. Chill...
Read moreWe had a very good experience at Maguro and we will definitely go back. We had the miso ramen and vegetable yakisoba along with California and Veggie rolls. My daughter said the ramen and. California roll were amazing. My vegetable yakisoba and Veggie roll were both very good. I look forward to trying the veggie ramen when we return. We had mochi ice cream with whipped cream for dessert and again this was very good. Prices were very reasonable and the portions were large. We gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the young lady who was serving was doing so mostly by herself and despite working extremely hard and being very nice it was clear she needed one more person. In all honesty it wasn't a big deal to us as we had time but I can see where it was an issue for people waiting for take out orders and for those who want prompt service. That aside, the veggie roll was very fresh but muted on flavor. If I could I would gi E this place 4.5 stars. If you're in the area I highly recommend it. They have numerous happy hour specials for food and drink. Be aware it is small and as such it is hard to have large spacing between people but they are doing their best and all of the staff had face...
