I am so disappointed that I must leave this review and for the incredibly sad service we received at Tott’s. We ordered food online for pick up and ordered over $70 worth of food. To say that the food was inedible is an understatement. We order food with a 2, 3 and 4 spice out of 5 which is typical of our orders of Thai food and other Asian restaurants. The food was received with an excessive amount of hot oil caked on all the food (one dish had an additional spoon full of hot oil flakes on top) Not one dish was made without an insane level of hot oil, not even the 2 spice. It seemed to us that a mistake had occurred so we called to advise them of this and were dismissed stating that it was correct as the person on the phone, a manager, said he packed it himself. My wife was the one who called and plead that it seemed as it was a just mistake and explained how all the food received was at a level that was inedible. The owner in the background was heard yelling at the manager stating that it was not wrong and it was not going to be remade. She was taken back by the rudeness of the situation given she was being extraordinary polite and undeserving of the owners reaction. The manager stated there was nothing he could do and seemed dismissive. She ended the call just shocked at the restaurant’s response and explained the situation to me. I gave it a few minutes to process and looked at the food again. I fully agreed that the food was not prepared correctly and it was all excessively spiced. I called again and asked to speak with the owner, but the manager who answered the phone refused. I explained the situation and how this was a celebration dinner that our family ordered but was unfortunately inedible. I politely asked if we could just have some of it remade for the kids. He stated that the owner had already said no and there was nothing to be done. I plead that I expected a little more of customer service and could not believe that this establishment would not help its customers or treat them this way. He responded stating this is the way we treat everyone. Disappointed and shocked I asked if he would at least ask the owner one last time to help and show great customer service (as stated on the website). He said no he would not ask and that there was nothing he would do. To his credit, it seemed that he was sincerely apologetic and his response appeared a reaction from being yelled at from the owner/GM.
This was a truly sad interaction with a restaurant that could have made lifetime customers. It is a shame that any employer/owner/manager would yell or treat their employees so disrespectfully as well as any customers. What a missed opportunity for great customer service and all for something that could have been easily resolved.
Our family dinner was ruined twice by Tott’s diner and it’s owner, first with the food and second with the horrible customer service experience led by the owner/GM. It was an expensive mistake ordering from this restaurant as all the food went in the garbage. Lesson learned as we cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone in our neighborhood...
Read moreI went to tott's and let me just say this. Hero's get remembered but legends never die. I had a gentleman Named Scott who gave me one of the most pleasurable intense dining experiences that I can recall. He made me feel like i was the only person in the restaurant and the spotlight was on me. Another employee name Nathan came in with the perfect tag team for a great dining experience checking on if I needed anything but also gave me just the perfect amount of space where I found myself hoping he'd come back and check on me and just like a Genie poof he'd be right there willing to grant any of my wishes. The way these two combined for a great dining experience it was almost like 2 souls in one body or in this case 1 soul in two bodies. I was aware this was not their first rodeo when it comes to providing excellent customer service, and that certainly Wednesday 8 pm must not be amateur hour. They must refer to Wednesday as Wedneslay at tott's Asian diner. Upon the first bite of orange chicken I could tell that the piece of orange chicken was about to be a submarine submerged by the volcanic eruption of saliva in my mouth at the pure Columbian joy I had upon the first taste. By the end I was ready to stand, clapping, shedding tears, yelling...
Read moreWas expecting so much more based on the reviews. This is a very casual place where you place an order at the cash register and they give you a number and nothing is particularly good or authentic.
Positives: They have an open kitchen, staff is nice, tea was good, their hygiene rating is A and has a history of being clean, wonton broth was flavorful.
Negatives: the Chow Fun with oyster sauce was drowned in jarred diced garlic. This dish isn’t even supposed to have garlic let alone be smothered in it. It wasn’t edible as I had to spend so much time picking out the abundance of diced garlic pieces.
The wonton soup was a bowl of vegetables which was so odd and not the norm. Ruined it for my mother who just wanted wonton soup not a bowl of broccoli, mushrooms, water chestnuts and carrots.
They were out of the crispy noodles and said they had been out for days. Hmm. My dad got a pan fried dish instead and didn’t eat all of it nor take it home which for him is saying a lot.
This is subpar food that’s worse than Panda Express. The good reviews must be coming from people who haven’t traveled much nor eaten...
