I absolutely love St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church! Whenever I visit my grandmother in Chandler, I make it a point to attend Mass here. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with such warmth and hospitality. The greeters truly go above and beyond, shaking hands and sharing smiles with everyone. They make visitors feel right at home.
Fr. Teilo, the pastor, is an incredibly kind-hearted priest whose spirituality radiates through his homilies and presence. You can feel his genuine care for the parish community. The church itself is stunning, and it’s been wonderful to see the thoughtful enhancements the parish has made to further beautify the sanctuary.
The choir is another highlight! They sing with such grace and manage to blend modern and traditional elements beautifully, enriching the Mass experience.
I highly recommend St. Andrew to anyone in Chandler, whether you’re visiting or searching for a spiritual home. This parish is...
Read moreOh, my I don't even know what to say. The hand motions during the Alleluia...my family couldn't take the liturgical abuse. The words to the songs were projected on the walls, but in a couple of instances weren't the right words. The church is modern and well lit, but completely in the Protestant style. No thanks.
And there are no Missals, but the words to the readings and the gospel weren't projected. Sorry, but I completely missed the entire thing because I need to follow along with the printed word. I guess you don't have any deaf parishioners?
The one thing I absolutely could not get over were the Stations of the Cross. Honestly, they were frightening, something right out of Dali. The attempt to correlate the stations with Social Justice themes completely destroys the beauty and tragedy of Jesus' passion and death.
My family and I will definitely choose a different Catholic church on...
Read moreEXTREMELY rude usher! I was a visitor there, and he made me feel so unwelcome, embarrassed, awkward, and really upset. I was near tears for a long time after I left. I couldn't even believe it. He was ridiculously rude, like I've never seen in any church. He never even apologized, and nobody else reached out to me, either. I felt humiliated and ostracized - on my second time there, and I hadn't even really met anyone, never mind done anything wrong. Except, apparently, commit a grievous faux pas in not knowing the details of how they do things there. How ridiculously rude! So much for welcoming the stranger! I'll never go back there, unless maybe I hear they're no longer letting people like that represent them as ushers! What a horrible community if he is representative! Either way, I feel way too humiliated and rejected to...
