Well, Mickey D's, you almost made it, didn't you? 4 out of 5 stars isn't bad, but this time I was hoping to deliver high marks all around to the only restaurant I still eat at not because the food quality or nutrition is superior to others, not because it's a comfortable or unique dining experience, but out of pure nostalgia for simpler times of childhood filled with hope and joy, where if nothing else brought me and my Dad together on common ground when I was just a kid, Mc D's could.
We'd sometimes enjoy a McDonald's meal, just the 2 of us, and when we both were at the table eating, just for that short time, we shared a common bond over something we both enjoyed, a familiar and welcoming taste, and the time there was special to me.
The food at this store is solid, very well cooked and the way it's supposed to be. Freshness is key, and they seem to cook it all to order. If your McDonald's meal ever tastes "off" to you, it's not the ingredients, it's the fact it's been sitting under warmers for too long.
I like the store itself, clean and they allow you to charge a device while you eat. I appreciate that when I'm without my vehicle for the day as happens often these days because I share it with someone else, little things like that make my day easier and are appreciated.
The service left a lot to be desired. I'm not expecting white table cloths and a Sommelier but the woman behind the counter really looked at me like I just killed her goldfish or I missed the toilet when using her bathroom at her house. I felt bad for being a customer, and that's never a good thing. Hey, if your job is that bad, I'm sure you can find another one on the same par as Mc D's. Not like you have to find another Fortune 500 CEO opening to replace this one and keep up with your yacht payments. Just go somewhere else if it's that bad. Jeez.
Anyway, 4 big ones for McDonald's Chandler. I'll be...
Read moreThis McDonaldâs is the closest to my house. Therefore we end up there at least 4 times a week at various times throughout the day. Yesterday on the way to get my sons braces we stop and order 1 sausage McGriddle. After sitting at the closed window for 3 minutes, it finally opens and Iâm told âwe are waiting on the sausage, itâll be another minute.â 5 minutes later we get the sandwich and drive away. My son takes a bite and then opens it up to see that there is no sausage!! I call the number to the store and it rings and rings. I try a second time and still no answer. Let me point out, they didnât have many cars in the parking lot and I was the only one in the drive thru. So today I go to get my kids breakfast before school, only to find I donât have my debit card(oops) all I have is 100 dollar bills. The first window says âpull up to the next window, I canât take it.â The second person saysâ I canât take it I will get suspended.â I understand and ask for a manger. The manager comes and also refuses to let me pay even after I explained I forgot my card. No solution was offered and I drive away with hungry children . I will never return to this location again!! Horrible customer service! Now late for school, I stop and order the same order at McDonaldâs on priest and ray rd. My order is about $26 I hand over the $100 bill. After the manager checks it, she graciously accepts it and politely says âjust this onceâ hundreds are not normally accepted. Thank you to that lovely woman who understood the situation and reacted with excellent customer service! In the future I will make sure to be aware of my wallet. As for the child they call manager at Kyrene and chandler...maybe you should get some training over at the other store, just in case you keep any customers at your...
Read moreI used to run a store myself so I can see some of the issues that this one has. First and foremost the staff is beyond rude. I have no problem waiting for an order when I ask them to cook the nuggets fresh since I want to drive home and have them warm from the store since they are way better that way. I even tell them I'm ok waiting the 3:30 minute cook time and I'll wait. The staff always just pulls the old ones saying that they are new from the heated cabinet. There's a huge difference in taste when they do that. Then they get defensive and rude about what they just served even though, as a customer, I was very specific and said I didn't mind waiting. There is no sense of urgency at this location and honestly if Ray Kroc was still alive he would have a field day with this owner operator.
Gave this store another opportunity since the are .5 mile from my house. Again asked for fresh nuggets and would wait for them and they could care less. Ended up with not fresh ones and wrong sauces too. I called and asked if I could talk to the new owner operator since they have had challenges here for the past five years and was told no. I was also hung up on with the gentleman with the tattoo on his left neck of the Cardinals. This location is the epitome of bad McD's and I'm done with this location. I even asked if the team could tell me when the new owner would be in to share some of the issues I've experienced and was told they have no idea when they would be in. Between getting hung up on and them not wanting to own any issue ever I would go to any other fast food place in the area...
