One of my favorite small businesses to support and coffee shops to stop by! Mina and Ana are always so welcoming. I enjoy stopping by for coffee, bakery items, and a chat. I can see the amount of care they put into their products and customers and creating a community surrounding the caffe.
My go-to is the lavender latte, or matcha if I’m avoiding acidic food. Unlike many other coffee shops, they use lavender powder, which I find to be less artificial tasting and healthier.
They have themed drinks for each season, and they always open to creating a customized mix of flavors. I tried their spiced chai in the past and found it very flavorful.
Mina’s mom makes the best coffee cake fresh, called “Jax’s Royal Coffee Cake”. It’s layers of lady fingers and a fluffy chocolate mousse cream. I always love to grab a slice, but it’s very popular and sells out fast. The cream puffs are also a favorite. They import the croissants from Europe and I can taste the difference.
You’ll also get to see Jax, the best mascot and guard dog. He’s scared of windshield wipers and loves sniffing for crumbs. He loves sitting by the front door and is very friendly—no need to worry about him jumping on you, being aggressive towards children, or running out into the street, though he loves keeping watch from inside. Be prepared to give lots of pets to pay the doggy tax—he’ll be sure to let you know if you haven’t quite fulfilled it yet.
This is a no wifi/internet coffee shop. That means, unfortunately, this is not the best space for laptop work, and this posted as a reminder on the front door. They are a coffee roaster first, and a caffe second. Mina mentioned that they want to create a space where people can really unwind and connect organically. It’s truly amazing to walk into the shop during one of their busier periods and hear the chatter and see the liveliness and everyone being present in the moment. I’ve personally used the space to unwind and catch up...
Read moreOnce, I ventured into this place with a slight misunderstanding of what awaited me. As a seasoned Arizonan, I often frequent coffee shops for two specific reasons: to find a conducive environment for work and to savor a comforting cup of caffeine. Yet, those familiar elements were notably absent in this unique establishment.
The concept at Momentto revolves around the simple act of savoring one's surroundings while delighting in a cup of coffee. Interestingly, they actively encourage patrons to detach from technology with their "No Wifi No Laptop" policy, aiming to foster real conversations and moments of relaxation. This focus on fostering genuine connections and offering exquisitely roasted coffee and delectable pastries truly defines the purpose of their business. Whether it's accompanied by a captivating book on a tablet or enjoyed in conversation with a friend, Momentto earnestly encourages patrons to detach themselves from the grip of technology.
Why, you may ask, are they pushing this philosophy on their customers? Well, it's simple: they want their customers to unwind and engage in meaningful conversations. Momentto is not just a business to them, it represents a way of life, an invitation to embrace to joy of living together. And that is the purpose of their business, while also providing beautifully roasted coffee and delectable pastries.
I wholeheartedly urge you to embrace the opportunity to detach yourself from the familiar and immerse yourself in the unknown. Momentto is a place where you can discover a true connection with the present moment and perhaps even your cultural roots.
Without hesitation, I highly recommend leaving your work behind when venturing to this enchanting locale.

Read moreAs I prepared for a busy ahead of me, I googled a random coffee shop to get some work done. After a quick drive I found myself standing in front of Momentto Caffe; and also a "No Laptop. No Wifi." sign. Admittedly, I was thrown off and debated driving to a different shop as I desperately needed to complete a few assignments, but decided I would at least grab a quick espresso. And wow am I glad I did. I was immediately greeted by the two employees working (I later found out one of them was the owner), who promptly started on my double espresso. As I waited for my drink the owner introduced herself and asked if she could bring out her Corgi, Jax (of course I agreed; who turns down a Corgi). After exchanging in some small talk I learned the rich history steeped in her coffee shop, how her dad built the roasters in the back, and how she continues to work with her family to bring a special experience (or moment) to every individual that walks into the shop. For the next 45 minutes I found myself relaxed, sipping freshly roasted coffee extracted to perfection and enjoying the present moment I found myself in, engaging in conversation with those around me. I came to Momentto Caffe looking for a quick espresso, but I was instead served genuine human connection and an experience I look forward to replicating. I can not recommend this cafe enough and am so glad I...
