Dirty and in desperate need of maintenance!
I am normally really happy with Marriott hotels, but this was was exceptionally bad. Our hotel room had a beat up and dirty main door, flooring felt like it had water damage, carpets had tattered edges and carpet nails that were sticking up, big chunks of carpet alwere missing out of it, there were gross dirt spots all over the faucet, the mirror was dirty, the shower's edges had dark dirty spots, the walls were dirty, there was what looked like a pubic hair in one of the towels, we found a baby German cockroach in the shower, the sheets had hair in them, the ceiling light was missing one of its parts, our feet turned black from the minimal amount of time we were on the carpet without shoes, there was a previous person's hat on the ground next to the night stand (do they even vacuum here!?) it was disgusting!
Then we had an issue with the hair dryer. The first one we used had hair product build up/grime all over it so we requested a different unit. The second one we got was a cheap and old looking compact unit. That unit almost caught on fire, started smoking, and burned hair and a brush. Then the hotel didn't even take immediate ownership over the hair dryer when we said it was theirs!
That was just the room!
The hotel breakfast was also really lame. We were so excited for it, but an hour before they were going to close it down for the day there small amounts of bread products available with no cream cheese, no butter, no peanut butter, there was just a tiny amount of milk left in the pitchers, one of the dispenser tubes of cereal ran out, and a few pieces of old fruit was lying around. There was luckily some breakfast sandwiches left, but the display was really bad! Come on now!
The lobby also had tattered carpet and an elevator was out of service during our stay.
This hotel has a lot of potential especially in the area where it's located, but it desperately needs better cleaning and maintenance!
I have reached out to both the front desk and Marriott corporate about this experience. While the front desk did offer points to compensate for the issues we identified the first night or two in (several of these issues were identified later) it is important to note I never saw these points come through, so I'm hoping corporate can help.
I'd recommend avoiding this hotel and other hotels owned by the same...
Read moreUp Front I will say your service is bordering on disgusting but your price is just as high, or higher as everyone else. Obvious my room had not been properly cleaned before I arrived. The bed had the sheets installed inside-out? Who does that? The shower-head fell off in my hand when I tried to use the shower. Shower area needs to be cleaned...BAD. Most mornings had little to no hot water for the shower. My room was never serviced, NOT ONCE for the entire week! The dishwasher had not been ran and/or emptied prior to my arrival, dished were still in it...and in the bottom of the dishwasher was a COMPLETELY rust covered knife, (Been there for some time). Most mornings breakfast area had no coffee, had to ask . On last day I finally found out one of the containers has been broke for some time and doesn't work...but is still in use. Upon checkout, could not get a printed receipt. My employer requires one. So it was agreed to email me a copy. Except the desk clerk could not verify my email, so he wrote it down on a yellow sticky note. Almost always, no one was at the front desk. Every time I needed help, I had to wait for someone to show up. Why do you advertise services you no longer perform? ie. your happy hour is still advertised on Tuesday - Friday, starting at 5:30. Yet IT IS CLOSED! My Team was staying at multiple other properties in the valley. ALL of the other properties I visited, did not require the Customers to wear masks... but your does require it. WHY? Mask mandates are illegal in the state of Arizona, according the Governor's directive.
I am sure there are more items I could tell you about, if I had more time. I can tell you that I will never stay at this hotel again. And if your hotel is reflective of the Marriott chain, then I will never stay at another Marriott property again. I have too many other choices in other hotels to...
Read moreI did a 14 night stay after returning from Italy. There is a guy who works evenings that is so nice and caring! The hotel room has such an awesome kitchen area. Though I did have to buy stuff. Like dish soap, sponge, kitchen utensils because they only had a spatula. I also bought sauce pans since we did have that either. There is plenty of storage in the kitchen for food. The fridge is full size. Two stove top burners. A microwave and toaster. There is a table for four. They have gas grills next to the pool you can use for free. The closet is really big. I was able to put 8 bags in there. There is paid laundry downstairs. Though one dryer is broken. They have kitchen stuff and bbq stuff you can borrow but they don’t know where all the pieces are to things so.... breakfast was probably the worst. As a person who came from the second worst hit country in the world and enduring the most strict quarantine after China, I understand the situation we are living in. They only do a small blueberry muffin and a granola bar in a small bag. They have a few boiled eggs individually wrapped in plastic. Oatmeal in packets. You are very lucky if you are able to catch this. Most of the time by 8 am everything is gone. They have a juice machine but most of the time those are empty and it just pours water. They also have fruit cups. So a very highly sweet and sugary breakfast. There is no reason they could not switch up breakfast and do brioches one day, danish another, bagels, etc... Another thing 14 days equals five clean days. Four semi clean and one full clean where the sheets are changed. I cleaned every day. I took my trash out every day. It feels like you are paying a very premium price but getting half an experience. Anyways, I stayed for the kitchen so I could cook for my children. So room and older front desk guy were wait made me rate this four but the lack of services and variety of food made me not...
