I’ve ordered from this place four times now (all during COVID) and the first few times were great, my food was ready when I arrived, the sushi tasted fresh and everything else was good. However, I have had pretty bad luck the last two times I’ve ordered from here. I was told my order would be ready in 20 minutes and upon of arrival learned that wasn’t the case. When showing up it took close to 20 minutes each time to have someone ask for my name and process payment. This last time, I was told my food wasn’t ready yet so I went out and waited in my car for 15 minutes. When I went back in I saw a brown paper bag sitting near the back of the restaurant (which was there when I originally came in) I went up to check the name and sure enough it was mine. Another customer told me it was probably sitting there for a good 30 min or so. Needless to say, I will not go back. I feel terrible giving a bad review but I am positive I haven’t been the only one who has experienced this type of...
Read moreI will never go to this restaurant ever again! I called ahead of time to make sure I knew exactly what I was ordering. The hostess said I was getting rice and steak. Since this is a hibachi restaurant, it's only fair to assume that I would receive a good amount of delicious steak and rice, especially listed at $16 online. Turns out I payed $18 for a bowl of rice with 6 pieces of well done steak when asked for medium. For that price I could have ordered a whole hibachi meal. I called to voice my concern and the hostess just kept repeating that "I am the only one to complain". She asked what she could do for me and I was given a free side of hibachi steak. This time, I received 5 small pieces of steak. The hostess seemed less than pleased to see me walk through the door. I wouldn't be surprised if someone spit in my food. Needless to say, I dumped the side of steak in...
Read moreA good sushi restaurant can be a tough find in Minnesota, at least, a good one that doesn't charge you the same amount as airfare to get to a city that's known for high quality sushi restaurants. That's one of the reasons why Kai's Sushi & Grill in Chanhassen is such a find. Unpretentious, yet boasting a strong menu of sushi and other Japanese favorites, you might not think this smaller spot in an older strip mall would yield a great experience. But if you write it off just by its location, you will be doing your palet and your wallet a disservice. The rolls available range from the common to the extravagant - including some with very creative names to match their flavors. Kai's also features a few ramen bowls, by far one of my favorite comforts from visiting Japan. And best yet, you won't suffer sticker shock when the bill comes due at the end of the...
