Brides beware, if you’re thinking of booking a room block here, reconsider. We booked our June 2022 wedding block a year in advance with the hotel manager who at the time was so helpful and let us choose one of the few suites they have so our wedding party would have a place to get ready and we would have somewhere to go after our wedding in the evening. I called a week before the wedding to confirm every person’s hotel room that was in the room block as well as our booked suite was correct to make sure there was no stress for the big day and they assured me everything was fine and provided all of the information requested. Our guests booked their rooms throughout the year and upon arrival many of them had numerous mistakes with their rooms or were double booked or were booked for the wrong nights. When I arrived to check in they did not have our suite that we booked a year in advance to use as the bridal suite available. We were told there was a plumbing issue in the room and it was no longer available, if someone books an entire room block around a bridal suite room you should probably let them know before they check in at 7 PM the day before their wedding that their room is not available… we were instead offered a small room with a Jacuzzi taking up most of the living room as a replacement. The front desk girl working that evening clearly started five minutes ago and was on a Bluetooth headset with her manager the entire night learning how to do her job repeating verbatim what her manager was telling her to tell us… Other people from our wedding party spoke with the manager as well and nothing was done about our room not being available. I’m sure that our room was just fine and they messed up the reservation or purposely gave it to someone else for more money as it was suddenly available the following day later in the evening but we didn’t have time to change accommodations in the middle of our wedding and we didn’t need the room anymore as everyone was already ready hours before. overall the hotel was dirty and dated and I wouldn’t have chosen it again even if it weren’t for all the headaches. It was very stressful and luckily was the only thing that went wrong with our wedding. It’s too bad the wonderful manager we originally booked with had since left and management has clearly fallen apart and quit hiring competent staff. If you’re looking for a hotel block for a wedding I would not risk the stress of...
Read moreI would be embarrassed to have any association with this hotel. My friends and I decided to stay at this AmericInn Chanhassen hotel for our mom's weekend getaway and are scarred by our experience. The bathtub in our room appeared to have mold and the smell was musky, we were able to oversee this but our next experience was scary. Within minutes of being in the hottub we started feeling irritation that quickly got so severe our skin was burning, we broke out in rashes all over our legs, arms, back and had spots of bleeding. We quickly hopped out of the hottub and sped to the showers in the pool area. One of the dad's in the pool area told his kiddos not to go in the hottub after seeing what we went through. After rinsing off, we continued in pain and alerted the front desk staff who said management would be calling us and they would check into it; we wanted to ensure others were warned so they wouldn't enter the hottub until chemicals were checked. We rushed up to our room and proceeded to again shower off hoping the burning would get better. More than an hour past with no call so we walked down to the front desk. We were told the PH was tested at 6.4 then the guy at the front proceeded to ask us to go to the back room to their testing tank where it was 7.4. He said we could test the water ourselves and bring it into a pool company. This guy was incredibly rude and failed to even care if we were okay or not. It was nearly 10 at night, he explained in an email to corporate that he offered a full refund for us to find elsewhere to stay, this never happened and who the heck handles things this way! Our swimsuits were ruined after the fact and completely bleached out. We sent images to corporate with our skin rashes and suite discoloration. To top it all off, this guy at the front said management would be in that next morning so we could talk to them. That morning, we walk to the front desk and were told by the same guy who was there at night that management does not come in on weekends. We've never experienced anything like this before and would never wish an experience like this on anyone! Good news is after a few days using ointments and caring for our rashes, we're all much better and feel confident knowing we'll never visit this location ever again. For the sake of this company, we sure hope they make some big changes and dedicate some extra time to training and building on...
Read moreI WAS "ACCIDENTALLY" CHARGED $16,902! I stayed at this hotel on 9/09 and had a fine experience besides a small hole in the wall and a fairly uncomfortable bed but fine for the price. The unfortunate part came in when I checked my bank statement and saw that I was not only charged the price for my room but I was charged an additional $16,900. I called and tried to figure out what happened and I was given the run around with them trying to tell me they had no record of this. I sent them a copy of my credit card statement which showed the amount. They still did not believe me and said they would "check in on it" and I did not hear back for over two hours. When they called me back they said it was refunded to my card but never once did they apologize for the inconvenience of maxing out my credit card over a mistake they made which has now made me unable to use that card. They only said I'm sorry after I complained that I wasn't even given an apology and that I didn't think they were as sympathetic as they should have been.I asked if they were going to also give me a refund for this HUGE mistake and was told that I would have to talk to a manager, I did not hear from a manager until noon on 9/11. At that time the manager called me and refused to let me speak and was irritated with me from the minute I answered the phone. I asked him if I could please speak and he told me that if I did not stop trying to "interrupt" him (he never would let me speak) that he would just hang up. He still did not apologize and told me that I was "over reacting" to this situation and that I would just have to wait 1-2 business days for the $16,900 to go back on my card. They have left me without use of my card for going on three days now and I have been told that I am "over reacting". I worked in customer service for years and I cannot believe that this company was not willing to do ANYTHING reimburse me for my room or offer me anything for this huge inconvenience that they have caused, let alone for THE MANAGER to tell me that I am over reacting. This is absolutely horrible and I hope that no one else has to go through this or is treated as horrible as I was throughout...
