"Meh" is the best way to sum up our experience. We got:
Grilled salmon and shrimp with fries Chicken lo mein Fried fish and shrimp with fried rice Hush puppies Eggrolls Garlic bread
My husband loved his grilled salmon but he felt like the shrimp were overcooked and dried out. He didn't like the fries as they were too soggy and flavorless. The chicken lo mein was really dried out as well, both the noodles and the chicken pieces. The flavor was okay, but it seemed like it was overcooked as well.
The fried fish and shrimp were okay. What I liked about it was that neither tasted "fishy" but neither had that much flavor to them either. However, they both had a nice crisp skin to them and the fish were a nice size. The fried rice had a spice to it that I'm not sure how I feel about. It's not overpowering, I've just never had fried rice that's spicy. The flavor was okay, though.
The hush puppies were delicious, but a bit small. They do give you like six of them though, so I feel like it balances out. The eggrolls were tasty as well, but they were also tiny. Also, they seemed more like deep fried spring rolls instead of actual eggrolls. Still, they were good for a dollar. The garlic bread was a bit soggy, yet burnt at the same time. The flavor was okay, it just had a lot of butter because the oiliness just seeps out with every bite.
Overall, I would say it was an okay experience. For $40, I'd expect a bit more quality wise but it's not terrible. I'd be willing to give it...
Read moreThis local restaurant serves good food. Yesterday evening, I ordered the tilapia with fries and 2 lbs of crawfish.
First, I'll say the fish was tasty. The tilapia wasn't overcooked, and that lemon pepper seasoning complemented the flaky, succulent filets quite well. Second, the fries were typical; they almost tasted like Ore-Ida shoelace fries, which are yummy but not anything special. At least they weren't soggy and bland. The way the chef(s) served the fish on top of the fries had me thinking of "fish and chips." That's quite British, innit?
Lastly, let's talk about the crawfish. This is where I had to snag a star from the rating because, although the crawfish were flavorful, the flavor was buttery and garlicky rather than a traditional zesty flavor I grew up enjoying. Half my relatives live in Louisiana, so I know what Creole crawfish tastes like, and I didn't taste that from Dan's Seafood & Wings. Don't get me wrong! I'm grateful that the crawfish from this restaurant had a good flavor. If you're feeling too lazy to make homemade crawfish, I'd say this restaurant is a good compromise. But I prefer homemade, so next time, I'll make a crawfish boil of my own. That's how I feel about that.
Overall, this restaurant has consistently served me well over the past several months, and I know the employees must be hardworking people. Keep up the decent work employees of Dan's Seafood & Wings. To the owner: You have a good menu. I'm looking forward to some innovative...
Read moreLong post alert: I'm not 1 to write reviews but the customer service at this place is NON-EXISTENT! My uncle bragged about this place all day Saturday 5/3/25. Our family of 9 came in to dine after a long day of packing & moving & this 1 particular "Ms. Rudeness" at the register needs to take a class on respect & hospitality. Nearly 4-5 items weren't brought out, when trying to let her know what was missing, she rolled her eyes, spoke in Spanish & smacked her lips all before telling me that "she don't make mistakes." I was floored. We're human, we all make mistakes. Had to go back & forth with the child before she finally said "it'll be right out." But as I sat waiting for the rest of our food, all I could think about was how disheartening it was to have had a whole confrontation bc y'all forgot to send out the complete order. NOTHING was unique about the mid food. Fries were cool. Wings were great. Crawfish needs work. Shrimp fried rice deserves an A+ but bc of the customer service I'll never return. The food isn't worth it. P.s. just because someone looks black, doesn't mean that they are & it also doesn't mean that they don't know Spanish. Employees there need to learn to bridle...
