This was my first visit and dine-in for lunch at one of the Lemon and Lime's restaurants. I heard there are three. This review is for the one in Chapel Hill at Meadowmount village. Review:
The quality of the food has hit my expectations as I'd devoured my appetizer and curry chicken entree that was recommend by my server, Preetham, he did a good job on the service and on two of the three recommendations. The service was well attended with by the server and buss boy.
One serious criticism though: I had asked the server to add the best shrimp entree to the ticket for my co-worker. Money for me isn't a problem to buy and order from good restaurants like Lemon and Lime. However, the price that came with it and the presentation was kinda hard to swallow 😒😕😟🙁☹️.
The menu stated that it's a clay bowl entree... I was expecting something... more extravagant since than the Pom fish entree ($16.99). For $18.99.... what came out blew my mind 😶🌫️😶🌫️😶🌫️🤯🤯🤯
You ready?
What came out was a little more than a half a dozen or so cooked and seasoned shrimp... on top of some lettuce, some sliced onions as shown on the pictures and some few slices of citrus fruit.... on a plate... not in a hot clay bowl or anything cool... just kinda presentable and I was so floored 😆😅🤣😂😂😂 on how ripped off I felt. I probably won't be ordering this again and should've asked the server for more info about this entree. This should've been a shrimp salad for starters or shareable appetizer. You reviewers be the judge. The picture was taken by my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. In my opinion... Popcorn Shrimp can beat this entree as an appetizer by pricing, quantity, and even perhaps quality in some restaurants like Red Lobster 🦞 🦞 🦞.
Overall my co-worker and I left the place satisfied and belly full. Thanks Lemon and Lime. If the manager or the chef can go over the shrimp entree that would be very appreciated!
Edit Review part:
The owner responded and gave me a detailed explanation why on the pricing and I felt kinda bad on my part. However, the honest review stays. Paying $20 for eight shrimps is a little too much in my opinion (Unless you earn your first Michelin Star I'm more than happy to pay $50+ for the imrpoved quality). If it helps this good restaurant maintain its quality and cover the cost of labor then I really have no choice but to avoid ordering dishes like this. Thanks again and I changed my rating to a full deserved five stars just because the owner cares for the business and customers That's means a lot. Hopefully a review of the Tandoori Shrimp to be a better dish or...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I came to Lime and Lemon in Meadowmont Village on November 23rd, 2024, for his birthday. He loves Indian food.
This was my 3rd time coming here. We got the Gobi Manchurian (not pictured) for our appetizer. It was delicious!
I got the paneer dish which is pictured in my review. I believe it was made in the Tandoor oven. The server had to check with the kitchen if they would be able to make it or not. Our server came back and said they didn’t have it so I ordered something else from that section on the menu.
To my surprise, when our entrees came out, I didn’t recognize the dish, but our server said they were able to make the paneer dish. I was so happy. The paneer dish from the tandoor oven comes with vegetables as pictured and a mint chutney. It also comes with a lemon that you squeeze over the top of your dish. My dish was AMAZING!! The food was great as usual.
My boyfriend also wanted Garlic Naan so we ordered that too. It was delicious as well with the fresh garlic. He ordered an item that was off the menu for his entree. I talked to the manager a couple times on the phone about it and he said he would be able to do it. My boyfriend loves chicken. He got the tandoori chicken made in the tandoor oven. His dish was with white meat. I don’t remember the exact name of the dish now, but he liked it. We also shared a mango lassi towards the end of our meal. It was great…both of us liked it.
I told the server we are celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday. We ordered the brownie. When our server brought it out, he poured something on it and the chocolate started bubbling over. It was so cool! I had asked if they can right happy birthday and light the candle.
They brought out another dessert. That was the pistachio kulfi (Indian ice cream) and Gulab Jamun, my boyfriend’s favorite Indian dessert (Gulab Jamun). The plate had Happy Birthday written across it in chocolate and they brought a lighted candle. Oh. The bartender played the happy birthday song by William, when our desserts came out. What a nice touch!
The atmosphere at the restaurant is excellent and the service is great too. We both had a wonderful time. Our servers were Preetham and Prakash. They were both great. I believe the name of the manager at this location was Mayil. He was very professional and worked with our needs. This is my favorite Indian restaurant and I am sure I will be back with my boyfriend. Make sure you go to this location (Chapel Hill).
They have an extensive menu. I have also tried some North Indian dishes like the garlic naan and paneer in a creamy gravy when I went with family. It was...
