Christophe's Macaron et Chocolat — Restaurant in Charleston

2/5 stars - some was delicious, some was not (and dropped a star because they did not give refund on the lower quality items).

First, macarons - coconut and hazelnut chocolate were great, coffee was okay, lavender was way too strong of a lavender flavor (I love lavender, and it was too much even for me), and the raspberry tasted like sugary nothing. There had to be an accidental failure to add any raspberry flavoring. Texture was good. Crepes et Croissant in Columbia’s macarons have slightly better texture, and the raspberry has flavor.

Second, chocolates - cappuccino cheesecake foster ball was amazing (could have eaten 5 of those), vanilla bean and raspberry were good, and the lavender was - again - amazingly too lavendery - like I had tripped in a lavender farm field and got a mouthful of lavender flowers and sprayed in the mouth with lavender perfume. (Tone down the lavender and add in some lemon or other flavor with it).

Pan au chocolat was great.

Baguette was good and soft.

Decaf coffee was good, but the lid on the to-go cup slid off too easily, easy to spill.

Opera cake was good. Personally, I’d prefer lemon or raspberry filling or topping to add some brightness to it - it’s very rich and chocolatey - but that might be a preference thing.

Walked into the bakery today(Saturday,August 11 2018) around 2:00pm.We were not even greeted, I had to initiate the greeting.i inquired if they serve chocolate mousse. The lady matter of factly stated sometime they do, but not today. She never offered any further assistance.we were clearly looking for suggestions, and she never once offered any help. The most incredible bakery that I've come across in Charleston! I've been on the hunt for a spot like this for quite some time...and I can't believe I actually found one! The menu is determined by the chef and changes ever so often, which I personally love. Anything to give me a reason to visit every few days to try what's new...
