I have not been to Five Guys in almost 2 years but here lately I had been in the mood for a good burger so I hit the one close to home and as you can see from my rating, it was terrible. Everything was great until I got my burger handed to me. It was in the normal take out bag and it was not only smeared with grease on one side, it dripped from the bottom. Had I been taking this home and sat this in my car seat without thinking only to find a greasy mess when I got home I would have been boiling mad. but, luckily for me, I chose a table with my partner.
I peeled open the foil wrapper and was really disappointed at what I saw, the sandwich was falling apart, it looked lacquered with grease and there were puddles of grease all around burger soaking the bottom bun. The top bun was worse, it was splitting in half from be so greasy. I thought it looked awful but it smelled good and I was hungry so I tried to just deal with it.
I bit into the burger and it was charred on the outside and room temperature on the inside - in other words, a notch above raw and way undercooked. I then realized I had not even been asked how I would like it cooked. I looked at my meal and then my partners. Nope, his burger was just as bad if not worse. For two regular sized drinks and two regular sized cheeseburgers our bill was $23.08 and it was not eatable.
There were only two people line ahead of us, and three other couples came in after we got there, but they did not arrive until we were getting our food. I can't say there was any sort of rush and thus no need for the line to expedite the order and make such a mess of it. If these greasy, undercooked burgers for two had been at some hole in the wall for $5 bucks I would not complain, but this chain is known for its quality burgers, but they are awful in my book and I will not be going back We threw our food in the trash can and walked out. I saw no reason why I should even bother to say anything, everyone in the prep area looked like they were involved in a frat party conversation while the tables and floors were very dirty.
The location that used to be in the mall went out of business and I hope this one does too. Maybe someone will move in that cares about...
Read moreI had the worst experience at this five guys establishment. It's really unfortunate because I really use to enjoy coming here. 15 minutes of being ignored. FIFTEEN. That’s how long I stood in line at Five Guys waiting to order.
Not to eat. Not for food prep. Not for fries to crisp. Just to be acknowledged.
Not a “We’ll be right with you.” Not a nod. Not a glance. Nothing. I stood there like a ghost at a BBQ.
Three employees passed by—one restocking cups, another talking behind the grill, and the third… texting in the corner like I was interrupting their lunch break.
🤷🏽♂️ You know what’s worse than overpriced burgers? Feeling invisible while trying to pay for one.
I could’ve written a short novel, launched a startup, or trained for a marathon in the time it took for absolutely no one to ask if I was ready to order.
Is this the “Five Guys Experience” now? Ignored while the staff practices selective blindness?
For a place that charges luxury steakhouse prices for fast food, you’d think they could master Step One: Customer Acknowledgment.
Sincerely...
Read moreFive Guys falls at the top of the list of places that I used to enjoy. Now, the prices are just way too high. I usually only go to look at the menu and laugh at the prices. Being from DC and having visited a true Five Guys I stopped in this one to see it the prices are lower. NOPE. A cheeseburger is a full $1.10 HIGHER than the location closest to my house in Maryland.
This one even has a sign saying "Voted Best Bargain" in Washington DC and probably 20 years ago. Seriously Five Guys. If the review isn't within the at least 5 years it isn't applicable.
In addition my fries had been pre-cooked so many times they weren't good. You know what it is like to get reheated fries. Yeah like that.
For the value price of $4.19!
Probably my last Five...
