Used to be one of my favorite places to eat. Everyone is really friendly, but some of their food just isn’t up to par with the rest. I previously decided I wanted some lobster, and got one of the lobster and filet dinners. . Everything was good except the lobster. It was like chewing on an eraser. But I was out to eat with my friends and their kids, so I didn’t want to make a big deal about it. I thought the chef (who that time wasn’t our normal chef) might have overcooked it or something. Besides, that was the first issue I had ever had there.
Last night, we did have our normal chef, so I decided to give it another try. SAME AS BEFORE... It was rubbery just like before. It was like chewing on a big piece of mutton or grissle. So I said something this time. Jimmy was VERRRRY apologetic and absolutely insisted that he get another piece and cook it. So he cooked another one, and that was same as the previous two. So out of those two lobster tails, I probably ate 3 of the 15 pieces, and put the rest in an empty sauce container. Because I know the rule of restaurants... “You eat it, you buy it”. So I just didn’t eat the lobster. When the bill came, I was charged full price (33.69) despite management knowing the situation. I’m not really big on making a scene, so I paid it and left. Jimmy has cooked lobster for me in the past before, so I know it wasn’t the chef’s fault. Just DON’T get the lobster, whatever you do. It’s an inferior product. Hopefully they’ll get that straightened out with their seafood proclvider. It’ll be a while before I go...
Read moreMy Daughter took me out for an early Mom's Day dinner. It was so dark when we first went in but once my eyes got adjusted and we were seated at our table, I fell in love with the decor and ambience of the place. Everyone was so nice from the time we walked through the door, during lunch and when we were leaving. Super people. Food was fantastic! I ordered the Steak & Shrimp combo with the noodles and she ordered the Steak Combo with Rice. While we were waiting for our meal, they brought out a small bowl of miso soup and a side salad with ginger dressing. Ive never had either before and both were delicious. When our main meal arrived, our steak was cooked to perfection, so was the shrimp, veggies, rice and noodles. We ordered ice tea and pepsi to drink. (They dont serve coffee but i was ok with that.) We had a great lunch and left the restaurant, stuffed. We couldn't eat it all but they supplied us with take out boxes for later. It was a nice, relaxing place to spend an early Mom's Day lunch together & catch up. Prices were well worth the meal & service we received. This was in Charleston, WV. We look forward to going back again. Small parking lot but not too crowded in the...
Read moreI wasn't impressed at all for the amount of money spent. And I am very much aware of how much it costs to eat here usually, I'm just saying I wasn't impressed with the limited amount of veggies that I got with my steak hibachi stir fry. I felt like for the price of it, I definitely should have received a full portion not just a couple veggies here and there. Also the dressing for the house salad was gross, we usually eat at the one in Summersville, WV and their dressing is sweet, where the one in Charleston wasn't. I guess it's all a matter of preference but the veggie portion was definitely short from what it should have been. It also took minute to get my bill when the place was clearly not busy. I'm a former server, so I get it shit does happen but anytime I wasn't loaded down with tables, all at once, I could pretty much handle it, and I got my stuff out in a timely manner and pre-bussed my tables (which also wasn't done at all until we were leaving the restaurant. So we sit with piled up dishes the whole time. On a positive note, the yummy roll...
