Staff are nice and always have been, place looks better than the previous mex. Restaurant that sat there. However, I've been there and have had a problem with the food. First ones with the tacos, I don't order anything else from ANY reaurant than 3 chorizo tacos w/ lettuce, sour cream, pico de gallo, and shredded cheese. Apparently to change out meats its a 4.00 dollar up-charge. Alright cool, instead of the tacos you get "street tacos" that comes with it's own hot sauce (and two limes supposedly). They're pretty good. Not really what I wanted but whatever I don't quite like that you have to get a separate dish just to switch out meat on a taco.
Second time got me for sure that I won't visit that place again. 3 chorizo tacos as usual, they won't do that it has to be street tacos. I say sure thing, they brought me a plate of meat and cheese. None of the toppings I ordered and when I asked for pico de gallo they brought it to me separate. It wasn't until I got the bill and noticed they charged me for "extra shredded cheese" and I thought that was absolute horse shit. They had cheese but the bare minimum and the third taco didn't have none. I say I rarely complain in a restaurant but this was one of the times I thought was crazy. Spoke to the floor person. He wears lighter colors unlike the severs who wear black so you can kinda spot him. He took the extra cheese charge off and I paid then left.
I don't think he's the manager and like I said the staff are very pleasant and there is no negatives towards them. But I'd like to say who ever is really running that place is trying to up charge itself into a Roca's. And Roca's is F tier mexican...
Read morePlaza Maya 2 is a consistent favorite for our group dinners! Our party of 7 visited on a busy Saturday evening and, as always, we had a great experience. I ordered the Burrito Tropical—deliciously seasoned with pineapple, shrimp, grilled chicken, and chorizo. After asking our friendly waiter for an extra spicy kick ("very hot"), it came out perfectly—enough heat to break a sweat but not overpower the flavors. I’ll definitely order it again!
Another in our group tackled the Mega Burrito and was determined to conquer a second, but nearly tapped out after finishing just one (piled high with guacamole and all the good stuff)—he loved it and said he’d get it again. Others at our table enjoyed their street tacos and burritos, and we shared plenty of chips, salsa, and a large queso to start—great for a hungry group.
The food was served fresh and fast, drinks and chips were refilled quickly, and the staff kept things running smoothly even with a moderate-to-busy crowd. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of parking, and we always feel welcome and comfortable. Plaza Maya 2 remains a go-to for us, and we’ll absolutely keep...
Read moreWe had a great time at this restaurant I've been in the restaurant business for over 35 years I worked in a Mexican restaurant that served 600 people through the door a night some friends that are in the service industry recommended this place and I have to say it was absolutely phenomenal! From the food to the service I give it 10 Stars you will have to ask for Alex he was our server never needed for anything and if you think he doesn't hear you if he's walking away from the table he does hear you. I highly recommend checking this restaurant out! I tried a quite a few things the tamale stuffed chile relleno and the molcajete a molcajete is big enough to split...
