Had the worst food and customer service at this Zoes. First bite of Chicken Piadina was disgusting... two chicken bones!! Took food back to counter, no one apologized, just said they would fix it. Hoped it would have been a priority to replace, but ten minutes later, I went to counter to check on food I had still not received. Two order takers and an order expediter stood with unhappy blank stares as I asked if they were working to replace order. The manager, facing the kitchen window, didn't even turn around or apologize, he just turned his head slightly without making eye contact and said, "we are working on it." Everyone working at this store had such unhappy demeanors and acted like miserable zombies...strange. I know the restaurant business is hard, but you should not work in this industry if you don't know how to smile, communicate with customers and especially fix problems with sincere caring when they occur. I finally got my replacement sandwich and it was covered with chunks of black char from the piadina grill press. I should have taken pictures for this review. Horrible experience, food and service. Their now hiring sign says, "Craft your career, love your work life, be humble, love people." So contrary to the experience we had interacting with the entire staff and management at this location. They seemed like they hated their jobs and the food was a direct reflection of...
Read moreCharleston ruins everything! WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! We've ate at Zoe's all across this country and typically double our order to bring food home for the next day it's so delicious. NOT HERE. I have no idea what protocol is or how pricing and portions are regulated through the franchise, but I'm now assuming to each his own. While in Atlanta, Nashville, Denver, and Boulder, the portions have been generous and prices fair....in Charleston, I got less than half a dried up chicken breast in the Mediterranean Bowl and 3 pieces of Falafel in my Trio Bowl and both cost $2 a piece more than in other areas. Everywhere else it's been a whole piece of chicken breast and 5-6 Falafel Pieces, what a huge LET DOWN. $29 FOR THIS HALF A MEAL WITH NO DRINK OR SIDES! I'll never visit this location again, which sucks because it's a few miles down the road, I'll wait til Denver...or Nashville....or Memphis...or Atlanta and enjoy it just a few...
Read moreThough there's a fair amount to choose from, the Veggie Pita Pizza instantly called to me and I loved that it came with a side Greek Salad. The pita was perfectly baked and crispy, but not overdone and covered with tomato chunks, caramelized onions, mushrooms, zucchini, basil, mozzarella, and feta. It was delicious! The side salad was also very good, with cucumbers, olives, bell peppers, and lots of feta...plus, more pita! I think it's cool that they make their greek dressing in-house and have it on the table.
The staff was constantly walking through the restaurant running meals, wiping tables, and checking on guests. Nice!
Zoe's is fast, healthy, affordable, and yummy - basically everything they're going for. I will definitely be back. The only thing I could possibly be disappointed in was that their flavored tea was unsweetened and decaf and the sweet tea wasn't sweet enough. No worries, I mixed it...
