What an adventure. I have never been to this place or any place like it. Most of my reviews are gauged upon three things. Price customer service and quality of food. First and foremost the customer service was phenomenal. The young lady who waited on us was the owner's daughter who would be taking over the front half of the restaurant when she graduated from college. She informed us of the many different changes that have taken place within the restaurant as well as her plans to improve the present menu and atmosphere of the establishment. She was beautiful intelligent and knowledgeable of the restaurant. Unfortunately the food and its prices did not meet my standards. I wish I would have taken pictures of our meals. Yet when I looked at the Google pre page I realized most of the pictures present looked like the mail that we ate. If you love onions and white sauce this is the place for you. I was totally throwing back when all three portions of my meal we're all covered with the same sauce. Truth be told the sauce really wasn't all that good. The owner's son is now the cook and is probably doing the best that he can but needs some help. Overall this is one of those places where I would go back for service and try something new on the menu and have it adjusted to my liking without so many onions. I do hope it gets better in the future and it was a young lady like that at the helm I'm...

While I did not have the best experience, I am still giving it a high rating because I think everyone should try it for themselves and support local owned biz over mass produced chain restaurants.

For me, I think it was just an off day—they said the regular chef was out. I already knew it would take a long time from all the reviews (whatever they say add another 30mins) and price is not a deal breaker if the food is banging…

After a week on the island, I was bummed I hadn’t had conch yet so when I saw it on the menu I had to jump on that. The good: generous portion size and super tender conch. The bad: the curry had absolutely no flavor—no depth, no soul, and no spice (salt and pepper weren’t even at the party). The rice was meh/mushy and plantains cooked to death.

The staff are warm and kind, know their regulars, and the restaurant itself is clean (no wait staff, but you can eat your food in the dining area if you’d like).

Next time I’m back, will def give them...

First off, hands down best meal on the island, period. This is local and this is fresh. I see some folks left a few poor reviews and I haven’t read them but cannot imagine anyone having a complaint here... I will acknowledge there was a significant wait for the food, we walked in ordered and the staff informed us we would be waiting 25 minutes due to pickup orders etc. We sat in eating area, and waited happily. What a flavor and worth every single penny, and more. We had blacked red snapper filet with vegetables. Brussel sprouts, cabbage, onion, zucchini broccoli with a touch of a stewed tomato sauce and some beautiful spice. We also had the curried spicy shrimp and slaw with fried onions. Unbelievable flavor and smoky richness, just a perfectly balanced profile. We really surprisingly struggled to find a well reviewed establishment for seafood in most of St. Thomas and stumbled upon this and thanks goodness! This is the place to eat...

After hearing from locals that G&D Seafood was a must-try, we decided to stop by after picking up our carnival costumes—and we’re glad we did! At G&D, you can either order fresh seafood to take home or dine in. We chose to sit down and enjoy a meal. We started with two drinks: Passion Fruit and Tamarind Passion Fruit. Both were refreshing, but I personally preferred the Tamarind blend. For our meal, we ordered the Stuffed Lobster and Shrimp—beautifully plated, as you can see below. I had the shrimp, and it definitely hit the spot. My cousin enjoyed the lobster and said it was just as flavorful. The pricing was fair for the portion and quality. The atmosphere was welcoming, and our waitress was friendly and attentive. You can also get a feel for the vibe from the photo of the restaurant’s interior below. Will I return? Yes, I would—but next time, I’ll try something different on the menu!
