I ordered this pizza from grubhub. I can honestly say this is the worst pizza I had ever eaten. Upon picking it up, it immediately flopped, limp in my hand. It was completely saturated in grease. I took a bite and all I could taste and feel was grease. There were large pools of grease in every pepperoni.
The cheese was falling apart, not soft or melty. It was brittle and soaked in grease. There was barely any sauce. The pizza was thin, as it should be, but not crispy at all. It was soggy. You can see the lack of sauce and, to a lesser extent, the quality of the cheese in the pictures I have attached. The cheese would constantly pull off the entire piece with the first or second bite. In one picture, you can see after the cheese had fallen off. Notice the lack of sauce. It's as if there is so much grease, there wasn't any more room for sauce. In one of the images attached, you can see the pool of orange grease that was left right after I lifted a piece out of the box.
I ate 2 pieces then ended up throwing the rest of the pizza away.
I also ordered some ravioli. Though it was better than the pizza, it wasn't great. It was "baked", which apparently means put in the oven for a minute or two to get the cheese on top melty. I stabbed one with my fork and tried to cut it, and the whole raviolo just slipped right out from under the cheese. The actual noodles were wet and slippery, hidden under a thin layer of cheese. The filling is nearly liquid. The contents would completely spill out when I cut one piece.
I would also like to note that the amount of food you get for the price is a little small. Also, to order a pepperoni pizza, I had to pay the normal pizza amount, plus $2.25 JUST TO ADD PEPPERONI. In other words, no toppings are free. It cost 2.25 to add a single topping to a pizza.
In summary, the pizza was a soggy sloppy floppy mess and the "baked" ravioli was wet and the filling was thin.
I did not include pictures of the ravioli because it wasn't bad enough to warrant pictures. The pizza however,...
Read moreI hate leaving mean reviews and I prefer to give the benefit of the doubt, but I'm angry that I just wasted $29 on the worst food I have ever had the displeasure of putting in my mouth.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I went to Carmella's thinking it was a little home cooking style Italian restaurant. Walked in and realized it's a bar. I gave it the benefit of the doubt since it had 4.2 stars on Google and other reviews said they have good food. Big mistake.
First thing I noticed was it was extremely loud. The music was blasting so loud that everyone else had to yell over the music when they talked. The combination of yelling and loud music was grating. Couldn't even have a conversation with my aunt sitting beside me.
Service was bad. Took a long time to put an order in and longer to get our food. I have no idea how it took so long to make our food when there was nobody else eating and our food had zero effort put into it. There were maybe 10 people at most and they were all at the bar. My aunt and I were the only ones sat at a table to eat.
The food was served in takeout containers despite us being dine-in. My side salad was packaged in one of those little clear plastic to-go boxes. My spaghetti was in a take-out container as well.
Somehow my spaghetti was full of water. I dumped some of it out as you can see in the pictures I've attached. It was by far the worst food I have ever had in my life. I'd call it hospital food, but that'd be an insult to hospital food because somehow this abomination manages to be worse. Bland, full of water, and inedible. I was charged $15 for this.
My aunt got the wings. They were terrible as well. Hard as a rock, dry, and bland. For some reason, some of my spaghetti was in the bottom of her plate. $13 for inedible wings.
That's $29 wasted on food so bad that neither of us ate it.
Do not let the kind reviews fool you. This is a bar and a bar only. Do not come here for food unless you enjoy wasting both your time...
Read moreHave frequented Carmella’s all over town, but mostly Arrowwood. The Montford location has always been hit or miss but tonight was a joke. Bartender was clearly not in the right mindset for work, no help, forgot each of our drinks, then when the girl in charge of food let him know our food was sitting on a counter waiting for him- he left it. Because I overheard the conversation, I picked it up myself. When I realized my part of my dish was cold, I called him over to address it and he decided to chastise the girl instead. She promptly came to me to explain that she has worked at all locations and the bread is always bad. I know that’s not the case and that also I can tell the bartender isn’t keeping up (while she sat on her phone) and instead of bringing a new roll, she came up to me to tell me why the bread will never be acceptable. In the mean time a customer at the table next to us decided to yell at us and ask if we wanted to go outside to fight. Terrible ethics, terrible service,...
