China Tea Room — Restaurant in Charlotte

HORRIBLE!!!!! Not only did they mess up our delivery order, when we called to get it corrected the owner told us we would have to come to the restaurant and bring the messed up order and he would remake the order. When I asked to have the delivery charge waived since we would have to come there he said he wasn't going to argue with me and didn't need our business. (We ordered noodles and he sent us pork fried rice which we cannot eat under any circumstance). He then had the audacity to tell me we didn't order the noodles. He ended up sending a driver to come get the food for me to get a refund instead of making the correct order and picking up the wrong one. If i could leave a negative star I would. SUM.: Terrible food, never eating it again.

I have a tradition when I get Chinese food from a place I'm ordering from for the first time, I'll get a random meal and a wonton soup since it's my favorite at these kind of restaurants and I have a little personal ranking for every place I order from just based on the wonton soup. So, today I got the Sesame Tofu and the Wonton Soup and when I ate it I've never felt more offended in my life. The Sesame Tofu was severely overcooked and was the equivalent of eating thin leather, and the Wonton Soup tasted as though they had taken a ladle full of salty, soapy, dishwater and put it in the broth. I couldn't even eat it for the sake of not wasting it, and I never had to make a review expressing how bad the food was before but this couldn't go without saying. All of it has since...

disinterested and inattentive. We waited a long time to have our orders taken, and when our food finally arrived, it was incorrect and cold. It was evident that the staff was not trained properly in customer service, which further added to the negative experience.

The most troubling aspect of my visit was the behavior of the cashier, who exhibited outright racism. It was shocking to witness such a blatant disregard for customer respect. This type of behavior is unacceptable in any establishment and only added to my dissatisfaction.

Overall, I would not recommend China Tea Room to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience. The poor food quality, terrible service, and unpleasant atmosphere make it a place I will not return to. Save your time and money and seek out a better Chinese...
