Hungry Howie's Pizza — Restaurant in Charlotte

I rolled into Hungry Howie’s in Matthews and decided to put their flavored crusts to the test with two pies: a large pepperoni + pineapple and a large BBQ chicken with pineapple added (because obviously) and the sweet heat bacon crust... and yes, before anyone says anything, I’m proudly team pineapple (till the end of time).

Both pizzas hit the spot. Were they the best pizzas I’ve ever had? Not a chance. Did they taste like pizza and make me happy? Absolutely. Sometimes that’s all you really need. The pepperoni + pineapple worked as my sweet-and-salty go-to, while the BBQ chicken combo had just enough kick to keep things interesting. The crust flavoring is their signature gimmick, and honestly, it works.. it makes the last bites feel like part of the meal instead of a chore.

Really the best “chain” pizza you can get. Lots of cheese, lots of toppings (that are legit), and if you ask for extra sauce they’ll give it to you without it being deemed a topping! Meanwhile the actual big chains hardly give you sauce nowadays and if you ask for extra, it’s considered a topping. HH is the best tasting pizza around and my family loves this location and try to always buy on spirit night to support our Lansdowne Elementary. Keep up the good work HH! I go to this pizza place from time to time. It is a clean facility and the people are friendly. The gentleman behind the counter took my order promptly and I waited for about 15 minutes for a medium pizza. The prices are average for a typical order. Ranging anywhere from $9 to $27, depending on your order. I would have given the guy behind the counter 4 stars but he kept touching his long hair and pulling it up in a ponytail.
