I'm a picky eater and only like certain types of food. Growing up, I never really ate Indian food because it was never introduced to me, and honestly, the pictures I saw didn’t look very appetizing. That changed when I went to the Taste of Charlotte festival and tried chicken biryani for the first time, it was so good that I immediately wanted to order some from a real Indian restaurant. I looked up Indian restaurants near me and found one I liked. I ordered chicken biryani online, and my total came to $19.76. It would’ve been a little less, but I added a side of raita sauce. For that price, they gave me a huge portion of chicken biryani. The food was delicious and had just the right amount of spice, definitely a 10/10. After finishing all the chicken (3 pieces) and just a little bit of rice, I was already full. And I usually manage to eat an entire meal in one setting, but this one meal had enough food to last me two full days lunch and dinner. Honestly, Indian, Chinese, Jamaican, and other international restaurants make American portions look weak in comparison. I can go to a sit-down American restaurant, order tenders and fries for the same price, eat the whole thing, and still feel a little hungry. With this chicken biryani, I was full after just a few bites. This is how American portion sizes should be. If I’m spending that much money on food, I should at least leave the meal feeling full and...
Read moreSo tonight was supposed to be “date night for us”. Got some family stuff going on and time got away from us. Attempted to order online for a pickup order and stuff didn’t work out— so we had to call our order in— not gonna lie, down to the wire—- the gentleman we spoke to was BEYOND patient, kind and just asked us to be there before 9:30pm because of their closing time. Definitely felt bad ordering this close to closing as I understand the service industry. We have dined in before and had the most amazing experience— food, staff— everything was amazing. Wanted to be there in person tonight. Husband raced out to pick up stuff - our price point of money spent comes from 2 people “who EAT to LIVE, not live to eat”- so do not judge us 🤣. We love food and have no issues with leftovers— as most taste better the next day (though some will disagree)- the food has always been that good. When the husband came home — food was HOT, perfectly packaged— smelling AMAZING!!!!!!!! Once again they delivered— even if we challenged them unexpectedly. Please support them. They are amazing! This is our first time for takeout and we live 10 minutes away. Thank you Royal...
Read moreThis is one of the few restaurants I have walked out of. The staff was so rude that we felt unwelcome. Things started poorly when we asked for a bigger table in the empty restaurant (the four top we were at was rather small) we were told that the larger table were needed for larger parties (please note that we wanted more space because we planned on ordering a variety of items to share), the tiny table we were seated at would only allow for a plate in front of each person. We were given the lunch menu which was very limited - asking for a dinner menu was ignored. We then sat for 15 minutes waiting for our drink order to be taken, without more than a few words from the one staff member present. The staff member (owner ?) didn't try to take any order or interact with us until we stood up to leave. The limited lunch menu presented was a turnoff, but the rudeness and hubris of the place was too much to bear. No good is worth that level of aggravation. Never ever going back. To clarify this happened several month ago and my entire group still talks about it. I'm absolutely...
