The food was just okay, but the service was VERY friendly. The owner/manager came over during our meal to introduce herself and mentioned that she likes to make a point to know each and every one of her customers. She asked our name, made a connection of how she could remember them easily, and assured us she looked forward to greeting us by name next time. Just from observation, she really does. Before she even came to our table, you could tell this place has regulars, because she was greeting table after table by name like old friends.
I wish the food had been better. We liked the salsa they provide with the chips but the chips needed salt (and we do not usually like salty things, so that's saying something.) We ordered the Fresh Guacamole and it was good, but nothing special; just mashed avocados with some diced tomatoes and onions. We actually asked for some extra limes to add to it, and it did brighten it up some. I got the Chimichanga with the shredded beef. The filling was good, but the tortilla was actually very doughy/soggy...like it hadn't been cooked all the way through. Or like it was too thick and as a result turned "dumpling" with the juice from the filling. I ended up just cutting it open and eating the filling and leaving the tortilla. The rice and beans were okay but had very little flavor. My husband got the Deluxe Burrito and he got it with ground beef. I liked his a little better, but it still wasn't anything noteworthy.
The menu is huge, so there's certainly more options to try. And I wouldn't mind trying it again given the excellent service. But I have a feeling the service is really what makes this...
Read moreThe end of an era. We've been coming to this place for 20 years as well as one of the last reviewers mentioned. This used to be a great neighborhood spot you could come in a get an affordable dinner, with decent food, and decent service. Over the last few years we've watched it change into something else. The food has always been decent and I would say that it still is. My burrito tonight was good, not great or fantastic, or amazing. The once 11.99 burrito is now 19.99 even thought the menu said it was recently 15.99. I understand inflation and get it. Just like you, we the consumer deal with inflation on many fronts of our lives. However $2.50 for a 2oz side of sour cream is a bit much and is more than inflation. I have many more examples of this, to many to list. Also, why only one disposable napkin per person? We always have to keep asking for more napkins! I hope this place finds the new identity it is searching for. Unfortunately, we won't be there to watch it continue to move in the direction we think it is going. Based on the smaller crowds we've seen, I think there are other that might feel the same way we do. The value with convenience is gone. I can now get more value or the same value in a more modern atmosphere, without being nickeled and dimed. I hope the best for all the great people that work here and I wish them the best. In our minds we will always remember the "old" Las Margaritas and have those fond memories. Good...
Read moreWhere to even begin. The short version: 5 out of 6 of our meals were wrong, 2 of them were wrong again when they replaced them, someone came to our table 4 times to clarify our order before it was even cooked(it was not difficult. Red sauce instead of cheese on a burrito. Refried beans as the protein on a burrito. Etc.), it’s expensive($15+ per meal. Kids meals are $8 and do not include a drink.)…. I felt like i was on a hidden camera show because literally everything was going wrong. The manager apologized 100 times and we were super polite, but we definitely aren’t going back. We just clearly had a communication issue and it had nothing to do with a language barrier. The food was fine, but nothing special. The ne i is gigantic. We love another Mexican restaurant just down the road so we’ll just continue to go there...
