Members Only Tasting Room & Social — Restaurant in Charlotte

This is a tiny place with potential. I attended a free brunch. It was chicken and waffles and the food was very good. I suspect the person making the fresh waffles and the chicken was not part of the establishment's staff but a caterer. What I found a problem is that there is a mandatory 18% gratuity on all drinks. I ordered a glass of champagne which was overpriced at $16 to begin with. Then a gratuity of almost $3 was added. I normally leave a tip of $1-$2 per drink; especially if I go to the bar to get it. All the bartender did was pour champagne in a smaller flute. I only purchased a drink expecting enough change to tip the person who provided the food. Needless to say out of $20, I received $1. When I questioned the amount, I was told there's an 18% mandatory gratuity and if I didn't want to pay it, I could cancel my drink order. In my opinion, that's ridiculous for a small glass of champagne. I get that some customers don't tip but mandating 18% on every drink is the reason I will avoid this...

The service and energy was impeccable. The Cabernet that was recommended was excellent. I liked it so much I brought two bottles for myself and a friend. I live in California but needed a quick meet and greet spot to fellowship with friends. The owners Kim and Darren were closed on Monday but decided to open their doors to accommodate me and my friends since I had traveled all the way from the west coast. Can you imagine having a tailored experience for you and your guest! I was so impressed and appreciative with the level of service received I purchased 3 memberships for my friends prior to leaving. I’m not saying this level of courtesy will be extended to every guest but I was so grateful It was extended to me. I have over 15 years of luxury management experience and we train our team about the importance of the clients journey and providing top notch client experiences, if I have to rate my experience I would have to say it was a 10. Members Only is definitely a must see when visiting...

Great strawberry puree smoothie (I added a shot of tequila)... the bartender was very sweet and was doing it all... the dj that did her thing! They had karaoke but no one really did it... I'll have to return to break the ice... I appreciated the ambience, the color scheme & the swing. It's a great spot for nice convo n cocktails. It's small in size but big in vibes! We had a lot of fun. Plus the decor is really nice which aids in that "exclusive" energy... we were celebrating my home girl's birthday. The hookah was good as far as they said but one lacked flavor... I can't explain there bc I don't smoke. The bottle service was nice (again bartender did it all!) Those who took part said all was good. An added plus were the games... large tic tac toe and connect4! All in all will definitely return and hopefully on a Thursday (there is an open mic on...
