This happened on my wife’s birthday sadly 🤮

So, I had one of the worst experiences ever with this restaurant and their food. I decided to walk over to the restaurant and order some food to go at around 11:23 PM. When I placed my order, I asked the person taking it how long it would take to prepare, and he told me it would be a maximum of 40 minutes. I agreed and decided to wait at the restaurant.

Well, little did I know that those 40 minutes would turn into a never-ending wait. After waiting for 45 minutes, I decided to check on the status of my order. I asked the person if it was ready yet, and he told me it was almost done. So, I thought, okay, I can wait another 10 minutes.

But those 10 minutes turned into a cycle of reminding the person about my order every 20 minutes. Each time, he would assure me that it was almost ready. By this point, it was already 12:23 AM, and I was starting to get frustrated. I asked again about my order, and he told me he was in the process of packing it. So, I patiently waited some more.

There was even a bell at the counter where customers could press for an update on their orders. I pressed it multiple times, asking for any information on my order, and each time, he would tell me he was still packing it. It felt like a never-ending loop.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I received my to-go order at 1:01 AM. Needless to say, I was beyond disappointed with the whole experience. Waiting for almost two hours for my food was not what I had in mind, and it definitely left a sour taste in my mouth.

After finally reaching home, my excitement about the food quickly vanished. I had lost all patience and my cravings had completely disappeared. Let me break down the disappointment that awaited me:

Firstly, the naan. It was unbelievably hard, requiring both hands and quite a bit of force to break it. Even then, it refused to budge. It was like trying to break a rock instead of enjoying a soft and fluffy naan.

Then we had the chili chicken. Now, instead of savoring the flavors of the chicken, all I could taste were these overpowering sauces. They completely dominated the dish and made it far from enjoyable. It was a complete letdown.

Finally, the chicken biryani. It was just average, nothing particularly special. I would rate it a mediocre 6 out of 10. After the whole ordeal of waiting and the disappointment of the other dishes, it was just another disappointment to add to the list.

To make matters worse, my wife, who had been patiently waiting to eat with me, took a bite after 20 minutes and ended up vomiting. It was a terrible experience for both of us.

I've been living in Charlotte for over 5 years, and I have never, ever encountered such a horrendous experience with a restaurant's wait time and food quality. This was a new low.

So, my advice to anyone considering this restaurant: don't waste your time and money. Learn from my mistake and avoid the disappointment. It's a lesson learned for me, and I won't be trying out any new restaurants anytime soon. I don’t have a 0 rating option here to rate so don’t even...

This is gonna be a long review! I can not resist myself sharing the horrible experience I had here on March 29, 2024. We, group of 10 went their for a buffet. We communicated earlier and the manager assured us that he will arrange a buffet for us. We even sent the money in advance as suggested by him. Once we reached there at his preferable time (!), the food was not ready. Then he started preparing food. He was the only one guy in the whole restaurant at that time. He kept preparing food. The restroom was full of used toilet papers, floor was full of smelly urine (!), whole restaurant was smelly, full of trash in the floor! We waited for 40 minutes and then he served corn soup which was too salty. After serving the soup, we waited 30 minutes! He was preparing the food inside! Then he served chicken biriany. We were 10 people and he served a bowl of bad smelly rice mixed with 6-7 small pieces of chicken! Holy cow! We were like "should we split those 7 pieces chicken within us?" When we asked him, he said "finish it, I am preparing more"! He then served egg fried rice with Chilli Chicken. Both were literally inedible! Too salty. We were confused wheather he was the chef. It then revealed, that guy was not a chef at all! He was the owner/manager and tried to earn some extra money in absence of the chef. OMG! We were so hungry and could not eat any of the food he served except the chicken 65. But it was served so less in amount. We asked him to refill the chicken. He kept saying "Let me serve you biriany. Let me serve you noodle. It will require 1 hour to prepare chicken 65". We then realized he was serving what leftover food he had at his restaurant! We were so hungry and sad at the same time. Then we talked to him. We told him not to serve any food as we were not able to eat those! We wanted to leave ASAP as we need to eat something from somewhere! We wanted our money back and he was hesitating. Finally he agreed to give us the money back. We took our money back and left. It was hell of a bad experience. That guy seemed to be a scammer. We were indeed hurt and disappointed by the overall experience we had there. We won’t gonna go nor recommend anyone this restaurant ever!

PS: We were so shocked and did not even think of...

My family and I were visiting Charlotte, and we discovered Taste of Asia when searching for nearby halal food. The staff shared that this is the first halal Asian restaurant in the metropolitan area. Coming from New Jersey (with plenty of halal options), we were curious how well TOA would be.

We were quickly shown a table and provided the menus. It took some time for all our items to be ready, at least 45 minutes, but I'd say the wait was worthwhile. For appetizers, we had the Shrimp Toast and the Special Thai Soup. The toast was crispy and interesting, but the soup really surprised me with how creamy, rich, and flavorful it was.

The entrees arrived not long after, which we eagerly enjoyed. The Szechuan Noodles with chicken were nice and fresh, and the Fish with Garlic was well-seasoned. We completed our meal with some masala chai and gulab jamun.

I hope this restaurant continues to develop and become more popular, since we always look forward to halal businesses thriving. I think if they improve the service time and refine the recipes, they will...

So just moved here and was looking up Asian cuisine near me. Every normal Asian or Chinese take out joint had very bad reviews but this one. I thought it was mislabeled when I saw halal but they actually make Asian meals the menu isn’t extensive but it isn’t tiny. The customer service was pretty personable and he was very welcoming my order taker and I assumed owner of the place. Love owners or management who is full access with working. Walked around while I waited maybe 10 minutes (it was sadly unbusy) and had toured the halal food mart attached and when I left after a small conversation about the dishes with the employee I got home to this amazing meal. I have one critic of bone in lamb but the man is right on retention of flavor by leaving in if maybe daily deboning after lamb is cooked for forkable dishes for most of us we arnt used to eating lamb unless sliced or diced. But all around excellent service you wanna see in private owned
