I live close to this restaurant and I have been here like zillion times. I can tell what you can order and what you do not want. I am a vegetarian and help you chose in that area.
Seating/ordering: Best place to visit for a Indian breakfast/snacks in the nearby area . You can order or takeout. Seating is sufficient and can almost always find a table. Menu: Breakfast: from the menu, if you are new to Indian menu, You can taste plain Dosa or Idly and wont disappoint you. Other items to try include Masala Dosa, Vada, Poori(ooooily though!!), Uthappam, Ravva Dosa, Pesarattu(made from green lentils), punugulu. if you are a conscious on your oil intake, you can skip trying Bonda(you can squeeze oil from these bondas and use it for next batch frying).
They serve breakfast all day, so you are good to order at any time of the day you would like to.
Lunch: you can try both veg and non veg thali (best OPTION to consider in my POV. cheap and best). Two orders of thali can server 3 people. Per order they will give white rice, pulao, 2 Roti(or naan), 1 appetizer, 1 dal, 1 curry(veg/non veg), 1 sambar(and or rasam), yogurt, 1 desert, and 1 piece of breakfast menu item(mostly bonda/ Vada).
Biryani is OK but not as good as compared to some other Indian restaurants. Fried Rice(veg/non veg), Noodles(veg/non veg) are oily as well and you can request them to use oil as less as possible. They also have some Indo chnese options. Occasionally they will include some other south Indian specialties based on the festival season.
Snacks:
Again, it is one of the good options to consider trying snacks. You can find some south Indian like punugulu, veg and non veg puffs, pakodi, cut Mirchi, Mirchi Bhajji, etc.
Dinner: Same as Lunch menu
Dessert: you can find Indian pastries with egg, and a good collection of sweets like, Jalebi, Gulab Jamun, Ras malai, kaju katli, etc.
Prices: reasonable. not too costly.
Finally, they also serve some south Indian style pickles for to go if...
Read moreI wish I had the option of giving NO STARS, I had the Experience of 12 years in Food Industry, But its totally unacceptable with my experience at this Cafe Not restaurant, and they better hange name to Triveni SLOW PASSENGER TRAIN Cafe Bar, And Where to start the CUSTOMER SERVICE & FOOD everything. Everything you need to order at the cashier counter exactly like In INDIA where you go DARSHANI's in Bangalore to order food at the cashier counters and after order getting ready calling the prepared Numbers aloud like Fish Market, and At the Cashier counter there will be several people taking the orders and don;t know what they are doing exactly, as I did ordered Chicken Biryani, DAHI BATATA PURI And Thali (plate Meals), received the first dish as Chicken Biryani, and I have to go in person at the Chat section what the number going on as he said 208 ,But my number was 202, and ask him whats going on ?? the Chat person said cashier would not give me token number (the system again its like In INDIA even though living in US) to who prepares Chat, he will ask my receipt and so on., And finally got Dahi Puri getting prepared (took another 7 minutes) while my chicken Biryani is getting cold and still awaiting for the THALI and ask the so called MANAGER just a advice that when some one orders try to give all the orders at the same time, rather not to apologising as courtesy with me started arguing, and i did ignore what ever he saying.
The quality of DAHI BATATA PURI is just like Pani puri filled with Yogurt liquid (Dahi) Nothing else as it suppose to have Mint, green Chutney's, proper Potato stiffing, Mixture, Cilantro, Spices etc.,) I wish i had known how they prepare i should have not ordered instead I should have prepared at my home itself.
People standing and eating is one of the big main...
Read moreWhen I tell you that I rarely ever complain I am being honest. I have been in the food industry for 15 years so I try to take everything in consideration. However my first sign to turn around should have been at the door when u pass hundreds of cigarette butts( literally) on the ground by the entrance. They have no manners. No greeting what so ever. U order ur food at the counter while they mess on their phones waiting for u to order. I spent 80.00 and was there 20 min tops that was with the ordering and getting food. Instantly I was furious. The food was obviously not fresh. It was so cold and the bread was frozen in the middle. They literally don’t care. It is a lazy poor managed buisness one of the worst ones I have seen. I didn’t even eat any of the food as I went to talk to the lady at the register she just shook her head yes and didn’t say a word 🙄 talking about disrespect. I straight up front told her I didn’t need a refund that could keep it as they were past desperate to get it honestly. Don’t waist ur time or money but more so don’t support people like this when so many other very cared for local businesses would appreciate ur buisness so much more. I will contact the health department and channel 9 news because after reading all these reviews this is literally unacceptable and something will be done. They should really take care of that roach crawling up the blinds as well. I will be posting photos and videos on Insta Facebook and snap. Save your hard earned money. Going here is pretty much tossing it straight...
