We thought the food here was really good but we also had to spend close to $60 for two people to have lunch. We tried a small portion of ribs, and the smallest portion of brisket and pulled pork. The small 4ox portion of brisket for example is literally one slice. A half pound of ribs was 4 small baby back ribs. Our chopped pork was the size of a side container. Sides are on average $5 and they too are pretty small and enough for two people to have a very small portion only- not really enough that you’d consider it a side. We came here because we heard the food was great and it was. If these are the prices and portions that keep their business solvent based on overheard and food prices, I understand that it but at the same time it does unfortunately impact our choice to eat there again and how often. I’d rather eat out less often and have a really good quality meal but realize this is not the mentality of many consumers today. Curious to see how this pans out for this business. I’d like to see people recognize the quality and be willing to pay what the business needs to provide it and be in an environment like Optimist Hall but time will tell. Not sure if their meat is pasture raised pork & beef or if it was meat that came from the commercial feed lot type environment. I should have asked. That would definitely make it...
Read moreToday(March 15), I order Brisket $15. Honest opinion it was not Memphis/Texas Style for which I'm accustomed too.
Dry, dry, dry.....not moist. Not savory. I don't know maybe I'm expecting too much. 😢
For those of us that know Brisket there's a certain period when it's not cooked properly where it can become "Roast" that's what it came close too......again maybe I'm expecting too much.
For $15 I got 2.....two small pieces for $15 😔
Coming from Memphis/Texas style of BBQ, I'm quite quite disappointed....
The fries I ordered was awesome.
Overall 3 out of 10. They have pork, turkey, and wings but I'm honestly not wanting too give that amount of money again for that again.
Lastly the Sweet Tea tasted like it had sat there and been forgotten about. A twangy type taste. Again 😔....maybe I'm expecting too much
Unfortunately I will not...
Read moreLot of hype and didn't live up. Brisket was dry, good bark and smoke ring but lacked flavor on top of being dry. Pulled chicken was good. Fries and Mac and Cheese were the best part of the meal. Sauces were all various carolina style, heavy vinegar but very good. Service was quick but seemed not happy to be there. Prices were ridiculous. $39 for a pound of brisket. $23 for a pound of wings. I had a Hog Wing and while excellent in flavor it was the size of a large chicken wing drum for $6 each. Even if the prices were closer to half, I'd still rate as mediocre. I didn't even pay for the meal. I...
