Recently discovering Optimus Hall, we decided to visit, and it turned out to be a stunning place with some of the best food I've ever had nationwide. Despite Charlotte's mediocre food reputation, Optimus Hall impresses with its fantastic flavors, unlike most places in the city.
Ava Pizza caught our attention, and I appreciate how they achieve a crispy, charred crust. Our first visit was delightful, but the second left much to be desired. My chorizo pizza lacked half the ingredients, and the dough wasn't adequately cooked. Meanwhile, my aunt's cheese pizza arrived nearly raw and dougy with no tomato sauce.
To accompany our meal, I ordered a beer that disappointingly arrived at almost 60°. Despite wanting to rave about this pizza place, numerous mistakes, including incomplete directions and a warm beer, were letdowns. Read moreSimilar to the only other review of this place, Inizio is definitely superior in value and taste. Not value in the sense of affordability, rather the inferior amount of pizza you get for the exorbitant price is very disappointing. I would also echo the sentiment of the other reviewer that mentioned they need a buzzer system, waiting by the counter isn't the most consumer friendly experience in the world and it gets congested in the area where they have people wait; so I would expect them to implement a different system. When you're getting food in a place like Optimist Hall you don't expect it to be cheap but I'd like to at least feel satisfied for what I paid and Ava pizza left me...
Read moreWe made our way to Charlotte this afternoon and found ourselves at optimist Hall. I asked the young lady at the register what her favorite pizza was and she said margarita so I went with it. I swear it felt like I was back in Italy in Napoli. Yes, it was that good. I only wish they had a more fresh basil on the pizza , it would really make a difference. And that sauce, oh yes! Just tasted so fresh! I’ll be back to try the pepperoni pictured here. Mangia translated in Italian means Eat up! Update 2/9/23 Had the Food Bae with chicken breast, mozzarella, cheddar, house ranch, scallion, and pickled...
