Will try in-person dining next time, since to-go wasn’t an amazing experience. Brother went in person with a friend recently and was singing its praises, but the to-go experience was just okay. First of all, if you order online, the estimated time quoted may be ridiculous. It quoted us a full hour for our food to be ready, but I had a suspicion it may be ready sooner and just sit in boxes getting soggy and cold. (I was right) We called after 25-30 minutes to check on the status and they were finishing our order. By the time we picked it up and got it home it was lukewarm. Thank goodness we called or else it would have all been cold and unappetizing. Appetizers were all delicious, spring rolls, chicken wontons, Tom kha, wings. BIL said his lo mein was bland but added some soy sauce to make it better. Brother said pad Thai was just okay, but that the boat noodles he’d had in person before were amazing. I ordered the Tom Yum Noodle soup bowl with chicken, and got home to realize I got chicken pho, which who in their right mind wants chicken pho. The pho broth was fine I guess, but there’s pho up and down Central that is as good or better. Perhaps steak or tendon or other traditional pho proteins would have made it less underwhelming. I get pho to go a lot from other places, and the accoutrements from this location (lime, basil, etc) were very stingy. It could just be that I was really looking forward to the Tom yum noodles and was just upset I paid for a meal that wasn’t what I ordered. Overall, I’d give it a meh. If I’m in the area, I may stop in and see if it changes my review since the to-go experience was...
Read moreI’ll round up to a 4 star. This is just another American Thai spot. The authentic dishes are not worth the time. Papaya salad is not authentic, the Thai Boat AND the pho broth is no better than ramen at home. I took a star off because they serve their broth noodles in plastic containers. That’s such a SE Asian move is to go convenience over quality. I will die on the hill that pho and Thai Boat and any hearty soup soups be served in a real bowl. I was really turned off when I saw that BUT, I got off my high horse and didn’t deduct a star on my rating for that. Again, for my SE Asians hoping this might be the spot, keep looking cause these dishes were the most expensive ones too. Now, where they lack in authentic offerings, they make up with the American dishes. The Pad Thai really was as good as everyone claims. The grilled chicken was seasoned with real Thai/Lao spices and was actually delicious (probably the best authentic non-American seasoned dish). Then when we went home and reheated the curry and reserved it in real bowls, the curry was on point! My buddy had the Pad Krapow and said it was on point as well. So as another Thai spot, it was fine. A better Thai version of PF Chang’s is what...
Read moreOverated! No Flavor at all! I had specifically asked (as a new customer) which meals are the most 👉 Flavorful & 👉 Authentic ... I was told the Mee Hang. The bowl had ramen noodles, bokchoy, shrimp, chicken, dumplings, and bean sprouts. Therefore, having all the meats in there you would think that the bowl would have some sort of flavor. It was provided with some sauces on the side but those sauces didn't have much flavor and they were just basically hot/spice, other than crushed peanuts. This was the most 😢 unflavorful noodle bowl I've EVER had, Literally taste like bland broth. The chicken wings were fine nothing to rave about.
Now the reviews said the 🥭 Mango Sticky Rice 🍚 was the best... THAT IS SO FAR FROM THE TRUTH... IT IS TRASH! 🗑️
The mango sticky rice was served hot half of the rice was white the other half appeared to be grayish green with no explanation of why it was that color, It had very watery coconut milk and some sliced mango with black sesame seeds. It was by far the WORST mango sticky rice I have ever tasted in my WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE! 🤢🤮
