Shake Shack Park Road — Restaurant in Charlotte

Having been to NYC locations on multiple occasions, I have a frame of reference by which to compare the Charlotte Shake Shack experience. Visited after the lunch hour was over on a Monday afternoon, and found the restaurant with no line whatsoever. The restaurant wasn't very clean, either in the dining room or in the food preparation area behind the counter, cheese sauce splattered in footsteps where the employees worked. Not exactly appetizing but no one seemed to care, even though business was slow. The crew here did not seem to be firing on all cylinders; the amount of confusion in the kitchen seemed out of proportion with the crowd. Either the staff is 1) burnt out from the huge volumes during the opening period, 2) poorly trained and organized or 3) Monday is orientation day for new hires. I witnessed multiple erroneous orders brought back to the the counter during my ten minute wait for carry out, and even my own request for carry-out was incorrectly served on a tray and had to be repackaged. The guy restocking spoons took 10 minutes to accomplish what should have been a 10 second task. The staff here today really had a shell-shocked quality about them. As for the food, I had a single Smoke Shack Burger and an order of fries. The burger looked good and tasted fine, the fries were typical Shake Shack fries, not my favorite - basically double-fried Ore-Ida crinkles with deeper grooves. All-in-all, the food was close to Shake Shack standards (when correct), but the experience and facility upkeep leaves much to be desired. Bang Bang Burgers is the place to go in Charlotte for a genuine premium burger...

Firstly, this location is nestled perfectly inside a shopping center.

Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by a courteous and friendly team member who directed me to the kiosk machine (This is how you place your order and get queued up for service).

After, a server will provide you with a table number that helps them get your order out efficiently.

I decided to go with the Chicken Shack and a side order of Fries.

Chicken Shack:

Antibiotic-free white-meat chicken breast over lettuce, pickles, and buttermilk herb mayo on a toasted potato bun (contains sesame, milk, wheat, egg, soy, and gluten)

Fries:

Crispy crinkle cut fries (contains soy)

While waiting for my order, I couldn't help but notice the diversity in the staff, as well as in the other guests. This made the environment seem warm and welcoming.

Additionally, they have quite a few flat-screen TVs for you to watch as your food is being prepared. They also offer outside patio seating. This location can accommodate groups of 4 or more, as they have booth seating options.

They even have an online Shack store where you can purchase apparel & accessories.

Bottom Line:

Yes, I recommend this location for quality but affordable food. Have a clean interior as well as exterior. For creating a warm and welcoming environment that embraces diversity.

Was eager to try the food & shakes here but the quality of service was very poor. The price of the food was mind-boggling due to the fact that I was unable to find anything spectacular about the meal I ordered and received. My friend and I placed an order to dine-in at 1:39pm which was printed on the receipt BUT did not receive our order until 2:20... We were both disgruntled at the sight of various orders being readily prepared and given to various individuals identifying themselves as ‘post-mates’ & ‘door dash’ who entered a lengthy time after we had placed our order and still patiently waited. I also noticed that many other customers who entered and sat down to wait a lengthy time after I had ordered, received their large food orders before mine. To be clear, our order consisted of 2 single burgers, 1 single order of fries & 2 regular shakes ... nothing that should have resulted in the amount of time I awaited for my meal. When we finally received our food, the burgers were room temperature, the fries were average & our shakes were close to being plain milk again... Despite the long waited times, the employee who took our order was nice as well as the lady who handed...
