CLEAN

I have to say that I was impressed.

DISHES: Are always clean. NOT WHIPE. CLEAN.

THE DISH WASH IS ALWAYS CHANGED WHEN IT GETS MERKY.

I WAS IMPRESSED

MOST restaurants I've cleaned for in the north/east/west clean their dishes with the same water and only change it three times out the entire work day. Not THE JIMMY.

The team effort everyone displayed there was amazing. Many fiffent personalities yes, but when it's time to chop-chop The Jimmy's get the job done together.

And the salad chef is just amazing I'd be lost without your guidance on remembering where all the little tools go. Thanks.

I had so much fun working with the dishwasher tagteaming all the dishes ans pans that came our way.

FOOD

The food is amazingly FRESH. EVERY DISH YOU THE CUSTOMERS READING THIS IS FRESH.

NO LEFTOVERS. TO QUALITY.

I had a chicken Ceasars Salad and I must say it was DELICIOUS, and the carrot dish too.

And yo I know you. Thank you for helping me Not fall in the ben. Lol.

COOKS

YOU'RE ALL BEAUTIFUL WORKER.

MR.BILL THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE OPPORTUNITY.

You're professional the whole way. You're energy and management was on point the whole time. I truly appreciate you and the staff at THE JIMMY.

PS. Don't change the paper towels in the bathrooms. They are amazing. I enjoy the lotion also.

❤❤❤❤

Enjoy...

Giving one star for the actual entrees being good, everything else was terrible. That includes the waiter (Andrew, who took 30 minutes to even come to get our orders), the drinks, the appetizers and even the vibe. We sat down at 7:15 to receive our drinks AFTER our appetizers at 8 pm. The table behind us, who sat down after us, received their drinks and appetizers before us. The pesto burrata had a weird smoky flavor. We also ordered the side of fries, and it was literally the most underwhelming fries I’ve ever had in my life. It then started thundering and lightning and we asked to move to a table under the pergola and he said, “it is reserved, but I will check.” He never checked. No one ever sat there. My friend was done with her wine probably 20 mins after receiving it and he never asked if she’d like another one. We had to hurry and eat to leave just so we didn’t end up being soaked. Also had to wait 15 minutes for our cards to be returned, which didn’t happen by the waiter, but the hostess brought it to us. Probably because of my passive aggressive answer to her question of, “can we get you anything else?” And my answer being, “our cards would be great.” All in all, would never return...

Date night in Selwyn at The Jimmy, a great neighborhood spot in Charlotte. It offers Italian cuisine with a seasonal menu, great cocktails and indoor/outdoor seating.

The appetizers cover a wide array of options. The Grilled Octopus is smoky and tender. The Siano Burrata was cold and fresh with Melon, Ham and Arugula to balance it out. The season Peach Salad with Pancetta was very good.

For entrees, we split the Mushroom Pizza aka Jimmy’s Pie and a seafood Squid Ink Conchiglie pasta with Blue Crab, Sweet Corn, Saffron and Chile Butter. It’s was the best thing we ordered by far. They also offer mains such as Brick Chicken and a House Cut Steak. Those will have to wait for our next visit.

Cocktails were strong. We tried the French Riviera (Tequila) and Sicilian Smash (Bourbon). Service is good. It’s always crowded on weekends especially outside when the weather cooperates so expect some delay. Parking isn’t that easy in the small lot adjacent to Reid’s. You can park down the street if you’re lucky enough to find a spot. Overall, TJ is a fantastic neighborhood place with delicious...

Super cute space next to Reid’s Fine Foods. I didn’t expect to be so impressed by the decor, but I was! It’s definitely a date night or girls dinner vibe! We didn’t have a reservation so we sat at the bar. We ordered a bottle of wine (they only have French and Italian wines btw), the burrata appetizer, a margherita pizza, and the pappardelle with brisket ragu. I wish the crusty bread they serve with the burrata was sliced thinner so it's easier to eat. I was worried I would cut the roof of my mouth or break a tooth if I bit into it. The combination of burrata and pesto was nice. The margherita pizza was just ok, probably won't order again. The pappardelle with brisket ragu was the standout dish! I definitely recommend ordering this!! I enjoyed the neighborhood upscale vibe at The Jimmy. It was also cool that there were parking lot guys who point you to a parking space when you arrive!

Average. Expensive for what it is. I’ve tried The Jimmy twice for brunch and have been disappointed both times. The first time, I had the avocado toast. It was unremarkable. The spritz did not taste like a spritz…it was overly wine forward. The second visit, we sat on the patio, which was nice. I had the hot honey pizza (good but not great…I had to order sauce on the side because the crust was dry). I ordered brunch flight (which is 3 sample sizes of their brunch drinks), but it was overly sweet with too much of the syrups (exhibit A: how orange and dense the aperol spritz is in my photo). So I ordered the margarita, which was good. My total bill after 20% tip was $85. For that price tag at brunch, I would have expected a truly stellar dining experience. I’m not likely to return, as I can get a much more robust dining experience elsewhere for less or the same $$.
